BluOS Controller

This update makes it impossible to use this app and is completely making me re think using this system. For anyone reading this review I would recommended you stay away from BluOS controller as it has a history of being intermittently working and horrendously frustrating to use when all I want to do is listen to my music. Is that too much to ask for blu sound products?

This app and the system begging it is genius. I love the way the app hooks up seamlessly to my Qobuz and various players. Well done developers!

The app used to be really good with a functioning and well-designed widget. The new widget under iOS18 has much less functionality (no favourites anymore) and the volume control buttons a way too small to be of use. Furthermore any speaker groups are often not recognised in the app. This is for both iPhone and iPad app under iOS18. I had to use my old phone running iOS17 to have a functioning app and speaker control. BluSound as a multi-room audio system is heavily relying on a functioning app. Please get it fixed. It is useless under iOS18!

I used the BluOs Node and app for over 2 yrs and I have been most pleased. Recently, it started to misbehave with ‘couldn’t download content’ messages, which I could only get resolved by deleting the app and reinstall. Unfortunately, the reinstall stopped working too as my app could no longer locate my network. I had a long back and forth email exchange with BluOs technicians. Eventually, I asked my dealer, Sevenoaks Sound and Vision who first checked the Node for me. There was no hardware problem. Then they advised me to get the latest iOS version 18.1 installed and reboot my router. That worked. So the problem comes from old iOS versions no longer matching up with the latest BluOs software. I’m pleased it is sorted. I let the BluOs team know about the solution. Hopefully they will be able to pass on the required action to other users who may experience this problem.

App is very reliable. However. I would like to have the ability to sort my Favourites by Artist, or by Album title, or by Genre or by Date Added

Not all of the buttons work. Notably Add to Playlist from the track control panel.

I used to like using this, but since version 4 it’s an absolute mess for me. The replace play queue behaviour is an absolute nightmare for someone with arthritic fingers, to try to hit the three dots to make a playlist is nigh on impossible I’m forever clearing the queue. Why oh why did you change it.

BluOS is very good. Since iOS update to 18 though, the widget is missing. Great way to quickly adjust volume is gone. Can we have it back please.
