Tried Boingo as part of my Virgin credit card deal at LAX, MAN and Toronto without success in all cases.
Paid the fee for 24 hours in Rio Airport, worked for 5 min! Tried to reconnecting told me I had to pay again, so send them an email complaining and guess what? They will get back to me in 48 hours!!!! I need internet now!!!! Not in 2 days time!!!!
App kicks me off about every two minutes. IT support no help at all. Auto-connect doesn’t work. I get this free thru MasterCard and it’s still not worth what I pay for it.
So whoop you get free internet for 3 months while your traveling I’m told. What a load of crock!! I land at Dubai airport no internet I land at Sydney airport no internet I land at Christchurch airport and yeah you’ve guessed NO INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically the only thing this app allows you to do is find WiFi and won’t allow you you use internet A waste of time downloading this app on to your devices
Set up an account which constantly won’t recognise my new username and password and does the same every time I reset. Have given up - what utter tosh
I’m at Grand Bahia in Mexico, following a review from someone who paid for Boingo and stated it worked here; I bought some time and can confirm it doesn’t work. It connects to free Wi-fi hotspot but nothing else. Save your money!!
When searching for hotspots, the map shows several clusters in the area. However, when you zoom in on those clusters it turns out there are no actual hotspots there after all.
I get about a 1 in 20 success as I travel , it is frustratingly useless This is compounded by the fact that it inhibits the hotel and airport lounge normal logins and I end up having to delete the app to be able to login to hotels and lounges.
It made impossible to connect to free popular hotspot previously easy to reach. I had to uninstall the app in order to be able to connect again. I start developing the opinion that Boingo have a special attitude in making the easy difficult.
A company that puts its name to this useless app has lost the plot. The app doesn’t find WiFi. It doesn’t auto connect to Boingo hotspots. What were they thinking? All it does is tell me Boingo doesn’t know what it’s doing if they think this is a solution. The most useless app I have installed and uninstalled in ages.
