Description

With the eBike Connect app, you can customise your eBike experience: connected, individual and interactive. Connect your Nyon or Kiox via Bluetooth with your smartphone and flexibly plan your routes, use the navigation via your display, track your activities or protect your eBike from theft with the premium function eBike Lock. The eBike Connect app offers you many helpful functions for your eBike with the Bosch eBike system 2.
Please note: This app can only be used for eBikes with Bosch drive units and Nyon or Kiox on-board computers with Bosch eBike system 2.
Route planning and navigation
Use the flexible route planning and navigation of eBike Connect. You can conveniently plan your rides and customise, import or share routes. If you synchronise with Komoot and Outdooractive, you can discover even more exciting routes. In addition, eBike Connect app suggests your routes that fit your preferences and mood (fast, scenic or eMountainbike). If you start your planned route in the app, it will be transmitted to your display or on-board computer.
Activities and fitness
From distance and duration to calories burned: view and evaluate all details of your eBike rides. Connect the eBike Connect app with Apple Health, Komoot or Strava and your activities are automatically synchronised. As an Apple Watch user, you can train even more effectively by tracking your heart rate while riding.
Help Center
Our Bosch eBike Help Center provides answers to your questions about your eBike. Here you will find FAQs, videos, and user manuals. To ensure that you always have access to the latest functions and improvements, we recommend that you update your Nyon or Kiox to the latest software version. You can find out how to update the software on your device here: https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/help-center/ebike-connect
Settings
In the settings, you can customise your display screens or link eBike Connect with Komoot, Strava or Apple Health.
Premium functions for more security and personalisation
- With eBike Lock, you can park your eBike in a more relaxed way: The premium function offers additional protection against thieves. As soon as you disconnect the on-board computer, the eBike's drive unit no longer provides support, deterring thieves.
- With the premium function "Individual riding modes", you can personalise your Bosch eBike and set the drive unit’s support individually.
- Based on topographical conditions and the selected support level, the eBike Connect app calculates your remaining range.
Usability information: The premium function eBike Lock in conjunction with the Kiox or Nyon display is compatible with the following Bosch drive units from the Bosch eBike system 2: Bosch Active Line, Active Line Plus from model year 2018 onward, Performance Line, Performance Line Speed and Performance Line CX as well as the Cargo Line from model year 2020.

Two glaring issues

T.HendriXon on

United States

First, the app does not seem to stream the heart rate using an Apple Watch to the Kiox display. I understand that heart rate will be recorded to the workout, but it does not display on the Kiox while I’m riding it. This is an important metric, so it’s very disappointing that they don’t show it. Especially because it seems to be supported in the eBike Flow app? Could be that Bosch is starting to neglect this app. Second, the data recorded to Apple Health/Workouts is severely lacking. It does not write the cadence or power. It also does not write the elevation over time, speed over time, or route (map data) to Workouts. The default Workout app handles this all masterfully so I’m very disappointed with Bosch. As it stands now, I don’t see any reason to use this app for workouts. Maybe it’s time for Bosch to let the open-source community take over.

Nothing groundbreaking.

The app works as intended, and the major features of it work well. I have no issue connecting to the bike, staying on course with gps, and the after ride data is good. Better integration with apple health and garmin devices would be nice.

Decent, but tracking activities seems buggy

Dr. Quiet on

United States

I'm having intermittent success getting rides/trips to record to strava. Additionally, bosch documentation references the ability to start/stop an activity by tapping a button in the app, but for the life of me I can't find it. I upgraded from purion to nyon to be able to get more data into strava, but it's a mixed bag at the moment. I hope this app isn't EOL and a few more "qaulity of life" improvements come out this year!

Doesn’t share GPS workout info

Omnivore7882 on

United States

This app doesn’t share GPS location info with Fitness/Health on iOS. There are other apps that do so currently (Slopes for tracking skiing for example). It’s great to have heart rate info, but the GPS track info can/should be shared with health/Fitness. I don’t want to share my track info with anyone else via strava or any other app.

Love the ap. Would like maps tied to apple with talking capabilities.

Works but buggy

ryntendo on

United States

Seems to work, install updates and such but a really annoying bug is that it resets the time to what I believe is Germany’s time zone when the app connects. I manually set the time and then when the app connects, can watch the time change nine hours forward (I’m on the west coast). Weirdly the recorded rides have the correct time though!

Bosch Nyon

BIGDADDYT505 on

United States

This has been an intuitive piece of equipment that gives me all the vitals I need in order to create an detailed work out, and understand where my strengths and weaknesses are.. only a small issue that I’m having now is with the lock feature it’s having an intermittent issue not a total dealbreaker, but may not be worth the eight dollars..

Latest app update (5.2.1.0) fails to navigate via gpx files

kduthler on

United States

The latest app update contains a bug that causes navigation failure with imported gpx files. Instead of following gpx trace, app navigates to the start of the route. Bosch technical team dismisses well-documented evidence to support app user claim and does nothing to address the bug.

Never Works
