The FUTÁR application by BKK Centre for Budapest Transport has been renewed under the name BudapestGO, which, in addition to real-time route planning, has been extended with new functions: you can buy digital single tickets, daily and weekly travelcards or passes in the application and you can also be informed immediately about the current transport service changes. You can use the route planner with a cleaner and clearer interface, facilitated by a number of new features.
New features in the app:

- Digital single ticket now also available
- Automatic pass renewal
- Traffic information (BKK Info application integrated)
- Personalised transport updates via push message
- Trip planning for trains and suburban railways available with a BKK-pass

Inability to access passes while in transit navigation page
The most inconvenient part of this app is that it does not allow you to access your tickets without exiting from the transport navigation (Which means you lose access to your pre-planned route every time you need to scan the QR codes.)
Seems like a huge oversight!
Next request. Please let us tap on a particular stop along the route in navigation to see other busses or trams stopping there. This used to be a useful feature in BKK app time. Sad that it’s not there anymore. Currently, when you tap on a bus stop, it takes you to the bus’s route instead of showing other bus options.
would be great if it worked better
as is, it is pretty annoying. Incredibly slow, limited payment options—buying paper tickets makes life easier: and it should be the other way round…
3D payment impossible
Bus stop didn't have any terminals nearby, tried to purchase the ticket with a 3D protected card, instead of taking me to the next page where I'd enter the code from the sms, it would take me to a page that said 3D payment failed. Tried it 3 times, same thing.
Sometimes tickets don't validate
It's especially inconvenient when the app has an error right when you're trying to catch the bus to the airport, and then you miss your flight
Terrible app and as ccompanying website
And seeing Devs responses to reasonably detailed feedback does not leave the user hopeful that feedback will be addressed to improve the product. Time to find new Devs.
In my case, reg process to which new user is passed on to web interfacrle was terrible and precluded using app. If I can't use my email and website can't specify pw specification errors I as a user can't and won't use app.
Terrible system
After a bus driver refused to let me board with a cash fare in exact change despite lots of signage saying that was allowed and my having done it earlier in the day, I resorted to downloading this app. Jet lagged and with my phone battery dying, I waited eons for it to download, couldn't create an account, gave up and walked back to my hotel, exhausted. I finished the setup the following morning—had to try both Apple and Google login multiple times before I was able to create an account, which also required agreeing to all sorts of data sharing, providing my home address, credit card info (no Apple Pay), etc. I haven’t actually managed to use it yet. Person who said it’s bad for tourists is right!
Does not have alternative payment functions
App doesn't have function to pay with Pay Pal. If you are from the US your bank will ask you to confirm your payment probably using your phone number which of course won’t work in Hungary. You can't buy tickets with US cards, I tried 3 different credit and debit cards
Buy paper bus/metro tickets instead
A nightmare for tourists. Procedure for validating tickets not implemented well.

Used this app for planning all the sight seeing trips in Budapest. Would highly recommend it.
