Canary - Smart Home Security

Ever since the adds were adde the ”live” view turn the app offline after a few seconds. I have to restart the app wait a minute and the intuder is gone with my stuff. Yes that is an amazing feature the off button… I do understand that you want people to pay more for your service. But the add part is really annoying and makes the app useless. Its a wonderfull air and temp meter now. I bought this for $200 and I get a commersial hose instead. But I have to say it did its job once. Got me a smelly fish sneaking in my appartment.

More and more features are put behind a subscription plan which sucks but fine. But now I have to watch online casino ads while someone is breaking into my house - come on… Also the UX sucks.

The new layout looks nice, but since the update the app crashes every time I open it after a few hours. It also does not update home / away mode automatically, probably because it has crashed in the background. Same for my wife, same for my mother in law, so not just on my phone.

Efter den sista uppdateringen, tar hur lång tid som helst att kolla vad händer hemma. Mycket snyggare app, men vad man vill har är att snabb Kuba ser vad händer.

Changed terms after you have bought it pushing customers into subscription is a shame. As a customer I feel deceived. I bought an expensive device under false pretences. This is for sure the best way to loose customer trust and recommendations.

Works just fin, been using it for some years now. Only thing is that my cat is appently a person according to my Canary

You never know what service will be excluded. Then re-offered at more costs. Buy a camera from any trusted brand instead. Home health is lousy. A weatherstation does it better. Person analyzis sucks.

Har använd 2år, betalat medlemskap sista halv året bara strul. Uppdateringar kas . Fungerar om man kommer hem ofta ,reser man bort ett par dagar, slutar att fungera. Förlorar mening med systemet

The idea with canary is great. People detection works fairly well. However, there are a few things to improve: - Battery usage on the app is excessive (I know it needs to check in the background, but there are ways to reduce the battery drain) - No way to add house keeper, etc to the app (for auto-disable) without giving them access to the whole video feed. - The free plan has only 24h video, which isn’t much. At least 48h would have been fair if you bought it for $150+ - Not enough details on privacy and data handling issues. Which data is stored, how long is data retained, etc. Perhaps the geolocation on the app (for auto-disable) could be end-to-end encrypted between the client and camera device. Shouldn’t be impossible and would be a great privacy win.

Every morning there is a “very abnormal” reading for our air quality. When you check what the possibilities are, you realize it could be a number of things. What would be great to know is which parameter(s) is/are having the high readings so we can try to take action against them or figure out where they are coming from. I would even love to see all the parameters but I understand it is probably easier to send aggregated data, so high values when it is abnormal and perhaps a chart with the normal parameters? Otherwise, the app works seamlessly and the alerts when someone enters when you’re in “away mode” are excellent. I also love the general look and ease of use of the app. Great job! Please take my recommendation for the air quality! 😊
