They’ve started to include ads in the app trying to push more expensive “upgrades” and other money grabs. I’ve been using Canary for 8 years and they recently increased the subscription fees while my cameras are slowly dying. Flex cameras that no longer charge or turn on. They’ve refused to refund my fees for these cameras that no longer function. So now they have my money for a service I can’t use. Pretty shady business practices and terrible customer service. Stay away from Canary. They haven’t even updated the cameras in the 8 years I’ve been using them. Sadly I’ll lose all the money I invested in the cameras.
Overall, we’re happy with quality and our use of Canary camera systems. We have three set up in our home. The one in the backyard does appear to always had some loud static noise which never went away other than that they function with the use intended for. There are times when it’s gone off-line quite a bit on and off for a Sub technical difficulties. That’s why I’m their end. Little disappointed, some of the sales options we had for upgrades trying to get percentage off to activate other cameras at locations and we tried submit for the 90% a couple times it didn’t go through and WOrk we had to take a lesser percent. I stole some cameras off-line. I would like to see a better deal package in the future thank you.
Device won’t connect. I followed all troubleshooting guides and nothing. And you need to pay for premium service to call customer service. No, I’m not going to “submit a ticket” and wait days or weeks for someone to email me with a link to the same troubleshooting guides I’ve already gone through. Greedy company, charging extra to offer customer service for their own device. What’s the point of a security camera if it won’t connect and is unreliable?
Bought this unit about 6 years ago and features that were included were eventually moved to a subscription and the unit began malfunctioning when we opted not to upgrade. There are also ads on the app. Disgraceful business practice by a company not deserving of your money.

The app crashes within seconds of trying to view a camera live. It’s completely unusable.
Videos won’t load. App doesn’t work. Bricked out cameras basically. Don’t buy.
Have six cameras bought over the past few years; the last one I’ve never been able to get connected and the others are somehow separated so that I can only look at two at the farm at one log-in and then three at the lake house at another log-in? Now they’ve priced the premium service per camera and six times $129/year is more than I’m willing to pay. And it’d be nice to have a screen showing all six views at one time?
I would repeat what some other reviews have said if you order them by “recent”. I had equipment fail and exactly like the other reviews, Canary put me through test after test after test, email after email after email and they simply do not care. they stretch out the testing that they make you do for their company instead of honoring the warranty until you’re out of warranty. Interestingly, the response to some other reviewers was to email them. How ironic – that’s how mine started in the first place. They don’t do any work nor is there any customer service.
