Awful service

So expensive compared to the competitor. My bank card had expired and they charged me a 30 dirham fee even though I paid within 15 mins of using the service. Plus the extra fees they csharge for Salik is ridiculous. They also ask you to photograph every corner of the car before and after use, which is just annoying. Expensive and rubbish all around.

Poor customer service and lack of cars

Spoke to advisor on the phone about availability of cars. He told me, they moved all of them to Dubai and sorry there is no availability in Abu Dhabi. Very disappointing and will not use this service again.

The new terms and conditions

The new terms and conditions of having to pay 3000 SAR for membership and that it will be given back to you within 7 days of the last eKar ride is just ridiculous!!!! Would buy a car in installments with these 3000 SAR.

Poor app

I used Ekar for the first time. The app is a bit cumbersome to use - a quite average at best user experience. Upon getting the car, it wasn’t cleaned and I had to remove the previous users’ soda cans and water bottles (during covid times) There is really no explanation when trying to park the car somewhere. Very vague rules about ‘zones’ and I had to travel back to my ‘finished’ booking, to drive around looking for suitable parking. Upon ending the trip, you press the key on your phone to lock, the app crashes and the car stays unlocked. Absolutely shocking app.

Constantly charge your card

They constantly charge your card for new fees and won’t help you. The person in customer service is heartless sms doesn’t give a crap.

Waste of time

I just wasted more than an hour, between walking to the car then many booking attempts and talking to the customer service. And still I couldn’t get the car. :)

Poor application and customer service

First time could not open door wasted half an hour trying to find another car to use, this car had faulty key locking device. Key seems to have come free as not good locking mechanism for key pad so the me registered was excessive. Another time could not complete booking, rang customer service and they said Emirates ID had expired which it had not, and they looked at my Nov 19 application showed expiry was May 20. Wasted another half hour getting it out right eventually got car to use. I went to rebook the car an app did not show where it was. Eventually found it was shown as where I picked it up. Wasted another 20 minutes finding the car in the app. I made a complaint and nobody has contacted me after 2 days said I wanted a director or manager to contact me they have not. Cars have done fair bit of mileage around 50,000 kms and bodywork is generally showing many scratches takes 10 mins to photograph and report. So generally not impressed.

App has stopped working

I can no longer make bookings via the app. I’ve tried restarting and reinstalling but ekar keeps stating that I have made a booking in the past 15mins which is not true. The “contact” button in the app opens a new mail with the subject prefilled but no email address. I’ve tried fixing this problem before but ekar are disinterested Udrive offer much better customer service
