Struggling to leave. Not sure how to. Revisiting months later as apparently didn’t manage it the first time. They were good, but got more and more expensive, adding features I don’t need, and don’t understand. I don’t need it anymore, haven’t for a while… but now my business is closing down, and I have to end the subscription and am struggling. Not a good experience for me.

Use to be a good app but the new login system is awful and a year on from introducing it they’ve still not fixed basic usability issues

Constantly crashes meaning I miss expenses

I like Expensify and find it really useful but the categories for logging expenses don’t cover some basics, like training, co-working space, marketing (eg social media ads). Think it could just do with an update for modern sole traders.

Been faithfully photographing my receipts all year… app crashes when I try to submit the report at the end of the year to give my accountant access, rendering all that work useless. Now have no shareable proof of any of my spending.

I like Expensify. The reporting and export functions are great. But the scanning and expenses have never really evolved. When will we see filtering in the App? When will we see a setting to choose Expenses as a default when opening, instead of Inbox, which is irrelevant to me? When will we be able to sort by Date Expense uploaded? So many questions. I wrote this such along time ago, and still no filtering of expenses! Scanning and reporting is still very good, so much potential…

Never in my life have I have to use an expense app where I get paid less than I actually spend due to supposed app limitations in properly converting currency payments

I was a very happy user of Expensify for many years. I no longer needed it to cancelled. Expensify implement ‘dark patterns’ in the cancellation process to mislead users into not fully cancelling their subscription. This is a very distasteful way to engage with users and turned me from a fan who might return to someone who never wants to engage with the business or anyone involved with them.

Don’t waste your time starting this up if you are waiting to use the free plan as they will be charging by the end of June. They still advertise this as free even though they know it won’t be for much longer so people waste their time uploading all their info in the hope that they’ll just pay up after spending so much time on the set up.
