Fastmail Reviews

Goodbye, GSuite.

Steven Deobald on

The app is everything I want it to be. I’ve been a Gmail user for 20 years. This is what Gmail *used* to be back when it was new and required an invite. But Fastmail isn’t an advertising company and won’t sell my data or use it to train bots. I just want simple, clean, fast mail and calendars that work. This is it. My friends have been recommending Fastmail for years — I wish I’d switched sooner.

Bestest, fastest mail app

Steve FFFF on

This is the best mail app on iOS. It’s very fast and easy to use. I can’t go back to using the iOS Mail app, which I was happy with for more than a decade, because it feels slow and clunky in comparison to this Fastmail mail app. It’s not all roses though. The Fastmail app doesn’t let you set the background colour: it’s either white or dark grey. Oh well. Best. Mail. App.

Bug

NoGoodNameForThis on

Please fix the bug: when open the app from notification, often only a blank screen shows. I had to swipe close Fastmail and open it from it’s icon to use it.

Meh

TofinoTime on

While I’m happy with the service — the app isn’t worth much. More often than not I’m greeted by a blank screen on launch. Fixing it requires a force quit of the app. This gets annoying quickly, and doesn’t seem to be getting any better with time.

White screen

The app constantly doesn’t load and just sits there with white screen.

Shortcuts! ❤️

Thanks for adding iOS shortcuts. Please add support for event creation flow, I would love to tell Siri to add an event on a specific date. Please add an option to go to Masked emails, not just to create one (although create is very helpful, thank you for adding it!)

Nice app overall

I’ve been a Fastmail user since it started. The app is better than the Apple mail app and I would recommend it for Fastmail users. The current version has a crash issue when opening emails from a notification. I hope it gets fixed in the next update.

Decent but needs Report Spam

Reasonable app and good service but it really bothers me how there is only an Unsubscribe option and not a Report Spam option. Are we really pretending all lists operate on good faith and that the unsubscribe link isn’t sometimes used to identify real users vs dormant accounts? Let’s be real here.

Nice all in one app

I’ve been a Fastmail user for years now and have been using the iPhone app the most. It’s great and have no complaints. The iPad app on the other hand is a little lacking. It used to have a way to full screen the email your reading but that seems to be gone now. I’d love to see that feature come back. Only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars. Still use both apps but would prefer to use my iPad for reading longer emails in full screen.

Great app, issue with iOS 16.1.1

Tbtango on

Canada

Love doing my email with this. So well designed. Under iOS 16.1.1 my replies now default to the cursor at the bottom so I have to ensure I tap at the top before starting my reply. This is new. I already have advanced settings set to signature at the top; don’t see any other relevant setting. It’s just the cursor at the bottom Also, sometimes the bar at the top with back arrow etc disappears and I have to close the app and reopen to get back into editing an email. I don’t have better troubleshooting info yet. Thanks again for an awesome app.
