I am highly upset. I was enjoying the app and had decided to go ahead to purchase it. Now, recently the app does not open but just crashes before opening! I thought it just needed an update -so I updated the app but running into the same issue. A waste of money now, do not buy.
They randomly cut your access even if it’s the same day you payed or a week into the month. Also app is always crashing on Apple randomly if you sign into your account.
A good idea! but many bugs and problems that it appears 'the creators' are too arrogant or complacent to take constructive criticism in account and improve. Therefore if change not made some upstart will come up and wipe them out !
you can’t even get into the actual app without agreeing to their two week free trial. at least let people look at the app itself before trying to get them to agree to a trial or up front paying you 30.00$-140.00$ which is a ridiculous amount of money.
I’ve been using FluentU for a couple of weeks now and my main complaints are: 1. The poor user interface. Compared to other platforms I’ve used, the look and feel, button placement, moving between lessons, etc. is poorly designed. Sometimes I’m not sure whether to click or swipe. Other times I’m not sure how to move forward with a lesson that is not complete. I will likely get used to it over time, but they really need to revisit the entire UX for simplicity and visual cues. 2. I can’t believe that the IOS app doesn’t rotate on an iPad. I use a keyboard case with my iPad but cannot with FluentU because all the lessons appear sideways. It’s not due to rotation lock on the iPad, either. This is a big miss for mobile learners like myself.
Do not use this company. I keep being charged and there is no way to stop it from the app. The auto bill you for almost $250 without you even knowing! SCAM SCAM SCAM
Multiple learning approaches with fun video clips. This is a wonderful way to learn!
I can’t stand the video loading time and that there is NO CLEAR direction for learning. There’s not even any guide or explanation in how to use this app, there’s just tons of random collections of videos. I wish I hadn’t spent so much money for this.
I am learning Korean and have an intermediate understanding. This app is amazing for building context based on clips and then learning the vocab etc. My only complaint is that the the voice repeating the sentence are essentially from Google Translate. So if you’re trying to learn the pronunciations or the “flow” of certain sentences, do NOT try and follow the robotic one. Reference the video clip instead. I wish someone would take the time to clip the video audio to the sentences being taught or just record it themselves. It would have been great.
