There is no English sounds for the Japanese. people with dyslexia can’t hear the sounds by people saying the word. they need to see it written down and there is no English writing for how to say it so the app is unusable. I will be happy to pay if this was a feature
Ok platform but way too expensive- it costs $49 NZD per month/ $30 USD for the cheapest option. It seems more suited to intermediate/ advanced level (I’m on the German course) as the beginners videos are glitchy and just text across a screen in video. There is a large leap between beginners and intermediate- I am somewhere in between, as the beginners is very basic and the intermediate is too advanced for me. Personally I did not feel it was worth the price.
Great app, but $30 USD is more than I can afford. Will cancel before trial ends.
Could work but they need to fix the errors. I can't go back and fix a typo and it doesn't register the last letter of the sentence or word and marks me as wrong. Too many good alternatives for me to persevere with this app.
I've used two other language apps and FluentU is the best of the bunch. It has heaps of video for immersive comprehension practice, it's well structured and logically progressive. It is easy to navigate and intuitive to use with plenty of flexibility. I'm making good progress even though I only spare a few minutes a time.
Very useful and fast to learn
It's hard to watch the videos as they seem very glitchy... They freeze straight away and then suddenly play at rapid speed when you click on them.
Very easy to use! I am learning Chinese, tried online videos but this is much better! Highly recommend.
More for advance beginners rather than absolute beginners. But great app
Decent app but contains one major design flaw. On the mobile app, it doesn’t support international keyboard so one can’t fill out the quiz answer. Workaround is to open a separate app like notes, type out the answer then copy and paste the answer. Very annoying.
