Repetitive but effective

Generally, I like the app. Some tasks might appear too repetitive and I feel I do not move forward but basically that’s the study tactics. All in all, I am happy with the app, a bit expensive though.

FluentU Russian

The idea of using videos to learn new words is great, because, when a language learning app is just about memorising words, it can get boring sometimes, reason why I understand why most people end up quitting. As an avid language student along the years, having that as my favourite hobby, I’ve tried several apps & books to learn different languages, and I can say I would definitely rate FluentU as an awesome and unique method. However, I have to agree with other users’ reviews that its only downside really is the price. I was willing to get a payed subscription, but was disappointingly surprised when I find out how expensive it is. I’m still at the 2-week trial period and feeling a bit hesitant about paying so much for the annual subscription once the trial is over, even though I’m really enjoying it! I’m giving the app 5 stars in my review for its quality and efficiency, but honestly I most likely will decide not to pay for it and will just get back to my old - yet affordable - memorisation apps.

€€€ Prevent a high rating

Really like the look of this app, it targets exactly what other learning apps lack - French listening skills - he content is really enjoyable and the game type experience is motivating. The con - an eye watering €33 euro a month, is simply way too expensive and not going to happen for many users of the free content (that seems to get trickier to use as time goes on), many people think Babble is too expensive and that is at €20 euro for 3 months. Unfortunately, i simply cannot justify the cost in my head.

Amazing app!!! Improved my German dramatically! I would recommend this app to anyone trying to comprehend a language! It helps you with listening, vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar! I can't believe something so useful actually exists!!

FluentU Chinese

Very clear and interesting， good for Pinyin and characters

Such an amazing resource!

I have been trying to learn German for a couple of years using the iPad, after giving up on expensive cd based courses. I use Duolingo daily and a few others. I give about an hour a day. I needed something with more extended listening, more challenging learning yet capable of helping a lone learner, whose power of retention is no longer what it was. I found Fluentu recently and really like the idea of YouTube videos, I like the enormous range of graded exercises. I am still on elementary and newbie levels which have sufficient variety and "meat" to keep me going. I love the revision exercises. I don't know how far I will get with this but I am enjoying the ride. This is an excellent addition to my attempt to learn German.
