For IOS: while background data is enabled: is it inefficient to expect the user to always ensure the app is open: especially if they are attempting to rework difficult or addictive behavioral patterns. Is it possible to add a function to open the app every 15 to 30 minutes to avoid this issue? Add customized Lock Screen: The Lock Screen always stating « you’re free » can be frustrating especially as it is the first thing you see after your dopamine fix is cut off. Meanwhile, the green is quite overstimulating. I would suggest being able to choose the text printed on the Lock Screen (quotations, reminders, etc etc), along with a color. It might also be cool to choose a background photo, if that isn’t too annoying to add a gallery. I could especially foresee users wanting to add photos of nature, travel, and their real world experiences to contrast with the website they were just cut off from, and remind them of what else they could be doing. Add location based limits: There are some apps or websites I would only like to limit at home, or at the office. This way users can even set radiuses around their homes, for example, to encourage going outside. Later: if this becomes useful: you might even be able to integrate special functions like: take a walk for 15 minutes before you can use this app again. Speaking of which: adding breaks. TikTok in China already has this integrated for children. It’s been shown to reduce scrolling paralysis and naturally reduce the length of app use by users. It is also easier to implement for users than hardcore limits: and can be a useful building block towards building a healthier habit. Speaking of which: programmable incrementalized goals. Say I wanted to reduce my use of YouTube from average 5 hours a day to 1 or 2. Cold turkey might work for some; but incremental progress would most likely work better. Having the daily limit change overtime I til the goal is reached would most likely help with retention of clients, and success. Add weekly limits: While daily limits and scheduled hours are great: I often find that I would rather have a set number of weekly hours. This would allow for a variable schedule and to treat app time like an event itself, while limiting myself to not go overboard then next days. Add calendar session planner, instead of just weekly loop function: I would like to be able to plan for vacations (when my hours are messed up via time zones or I don’t know if I’ll need an app). Also, sometim
I’ve bought it for 40 dollars, and it doesn’t block my Instagram, even on premium account, after I used all suggestions for troubleshooting. It’s still doesn’t block my social! Hustle
Unfortunately, both the app blocking and the website blocking features are very easy to bypass for me. I know it’s not the developer’s fault, but Apple’s fault for not providing a proper API allowing adults to lock themselves out (Screen Time is also easily bypassed). For this reason, I’ve had enough of iOS: I’ve just ordered a feature phone, and I intend to put my SIM card in it, and disable my Wi-Fi network. It’s the only way I could think of, to prevent myself from spending too much time online.
Doesn’t work. Started a session but can still access Instagram and websites I blocked. App UI is terrible
Proud user since last year 🌟 Please can you add the live activity on lock screen ? It would be nice to see the timer when checking the phone :)
Freedom est une excellent application qui permet de restreindre son temps d’écran. Inutile tout en permettant l’accès aux applications constructives vraiment la meilleure application de tout l’App Store pour améliorer notre qualité de vie !
