Description

FreeOTP adds a second layer of security for your online accounts. This works by generating one-time passwords on your mobile devices which can be used in conjunction with your normal password to make your login nearly impossible to hack. These passwords can be generated even when your phone is in airplane mode.

FreeOTP works with many of the great online services you already use, including Google, Facebook, Evernote, GitHub and many more! FreeOTP also may work for your private corporate security if they implement the standardized TOTP or HOTP protocols. This includes great enterprise solutions like FreeIPA.

FreeOTP is open source and free software! Licensed under the Apache 2.0 license, you can obtain the source code for FreeOTP at https://fedorahosted.org/freeotp for review or modification. Contributions are welcome!

Matthorton on

Cant access one of my FaceID protected codes

No longer works

GMH64 on

Used to work well but since last update opens and immediately crashes. Now locked out of accounts and I can’t seem to roll back to prior version to regain functionality.

Working as expected for years

Gcoffey47 on

No problems until the recent update, the app now exits as soon as it is opened. Rendering it unusable

Rubbish

tatjanas21 on

I linked my email account to this app and now I cannot recover my password! I enter the code from the app and it says it’s wrong!!! Every time I enter the codes from the app it says it’s wrong . Omg ! What should I do now my email provider says he can nothing to do with it . Unreliable

AVOID! Doesn’t work and now I’m locked out of my password manager

kvns09 on

AVOID! It doesn’t work after I updated to iOS 14 if you set a passcode on the app. It just asks for the passcode and then does nothing. Also poor support options. Now I am locked out of my password manager.

Crash when trying to unlock token!

MrAriel on

This was supposed to be a fix in the last update. Now app is crashing when you try to unlock a token.

Does what it says on the Tin..!

MonkeyBoy..! on

Great little app, no fancy screens just simple to use and does what you need it to do..! It’s free..! But if they were to make it more fancy I’d happily pay the average £0.79p for it..! Chris

Works great, one issue

LinkZor on

Can't change the icons of existing OTP entries.

Love it but latest version has a bug!

Elementary_ on

I love this app. It’s so simple! Unfortunately the edit button has disappeared and I can’t seem to delete or rename my authentication codes anymore. Please can you fix?

App was great but has been ruined

BigAl3x on

I've no idea what the developers were thinking but this app simply isn't the same as it was a couple of years ago. I used to like it because you could add a custom icon and change the token description. This is important if you've got very large number of tokens to support your users and IT systems. In the previous release, it was impossible to delete or edit tokens any more [on iPadOS 13.3], so you couldn't replace them. I did this latest update and now the only functions remaining are Delete and Scan QR. All other features have gone. This is crazy! With so many other authenticator apps out there doing more or less the same thing, I wouldn't bother with this one anymore.
