Reliability and Stability of App is awful

efvmw on

How often this app totally crashes and provides a laggy feed makes leaving my dog so much more stressful than it needs to be when you cant just get a clear picture of how they are doing. This is not due to my connection on camera or phone side. Going to have to probably buy another camera which is disappointing as this was so expensive.

Fix the app

Beebeebot123 on

I can’t connect to the app when I am off my home WiFi. Tried all the solutions and am told it’s a problem with the app. Fix the app so I can connect outside of my house.

Fundamentally broken

Unintentional2014 on

Anyone who might be thinking of getting this product, don’t. I’m an IT tech pro and despite literal decades of experience, I couldn’t get this to work. The “decrease your wifi security settings” is also a giant red flag. Nice looking product, very pretty box, woeful implementation. Avoid.

Nice idea but doesn’t work

RoskoC on

We’ve got a Furbo, and it’s a great idea when it works. However, 95% of the time my iPhone can’t connect to it and it just comes back with an error message. It only really works when you are on good strong WiFi, which sort of defeats the purpose of checking in of your doggo when out and about. At the moment, we can access it successfully maybe once a month. It seemed like a good idea but at the moment it’s really honestly been a phenomenal waste of money. £150 to basically still not be able to check in on them. Then don’t get me started on the fact that as well as the original outlay, Furbo still wants you to give them a monthly subscription. Until Furbo fixes the shocking reliability, would NOT recommend.

Nice but with glitches

SeanDaw on

Furbo 360 is a nice camera but probably shouldn’t be named that due to its inability to provide 360 coverage. However it works pretty well to pick up on various dog sounds and movements and notify you if you’ve subscribed. One of my biggest annoyances is trying to listen in on the live feed on my iPhone. If I’ve got my ringer silenced then I cannot hear any audio from the live feed. This switch shouldn’t affect the live feed in the same way that it doesn’t have any impact on music/audio apps, YouTube etc or online videos. It only normally silences notifications on EVERYTHING else, but on Furbo it silences all the audio which is really annoying and very unhelpful. Surely this is an easy fix Furbo?!?

Extra Pair of Eyes

MarkDBS on

Great app for checking in on my golden retriever when I am out, albeit she does not get left alone for long. Great to receive the notifications if she barks & the ability to talk to her through the camera. The sound the camera makes when it dispenses treats really scares her is the only con. Other than that, a worthwhile purchase.

Half Made App

MakerTheDJ on

I’ve had this for a few hours and accidentally recorded about 50 15 second videos and I have to click on each one manually to delete them all it’s going to take all night ! You charge the earth for this hardware how about making the software bearable and also make it google compatible !! Rubbish app !! Greedy charging for all the extras too

Wish I’d bought something else

k3dev on

Consistent connection problems, even if wifi is fine to other devices in the home. The whole point of the camera (for me) is to check on my pup when I’m out. Good luck if you can connect from your phone without wifi. Telling me to close the app from the background is useless advice and it’s gotten worse since they did the latest update. Wishing I’d purchased another brand as recommended to me instead of this (I now have two as I thought the 360 one would be good). So disappointed for what this could be, if only it bothered to actually fix the connection issues.

Worked great for a while…

Dave Lampard on

Worked great for a while but then have had nothing but problems with it, Ironically when not at home so exactly when I want to check on the house and / or dogs. To be fair the customer service is great (American company so that’s what you’d expect) but recently the only advice we’re getting is to restart the whole things (takes about 15 minutes) and use a different cable or plug socket. I don’t know why but sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t. Problem is when I’m not at home I can’t do that and it’s now happening every day. The 1 star is for the customer service alone. What a waste of money! Yes you can flick treats to your dog(s) but that’s really a gimmick… they grow bored of it after a few months. You’re better off to just get a (much) cheaper webcam with a more reliable connection. Sorry Furbo…. You were great for a while but you’ve gone downhill rapidly!!

Read before you buy camera

Elaine_Ev on

You have to restart your phone every time you leave your home. At a minimum once. Today I had to do it three times on a half hour walk. If you are someone who occasionally feels curious/anxious to check on your dog - buy another camera. One that you can just check, not have to wait an anxious c. 7min to get working. This problem isn’t intermittent- it’s every time I leave my home. Another poor design issue is the on/off on the camera. It hardly ever displays, so you can’t select to switch camera off. When it does display, it’s so tiny on the phone screen, the app thinks you're selecting to view the camera, not switch it off. The final poor design is the nanny cam. I have a full grown Great Dane and a tiny new puppy. The nanny works fine with the puppy, but doesn’t pick up anything from the giant Great Dane. Not her movement nor sound. For those of you out there who know Great Danes, you will understand how loud and deep their bark is. As I approach my home, I’m alerted because I can hear the barking through the walls. Meanwhile, from the nanny cam - nothing. I tried to return it under the Consumer Act in UK, as unfit for purpose, but I got a ‘computer says no’ customer service rep who wasn’t aware of the law. Now I have to try and reach a human to complain
