Most people here seem to be reviewing the Litter Robot here, rather than the app. The app is much worse. Slow to load, often totally fails fetching info and then shows (incorrectly) that there’s no activity or data. Fails to update settings. Smart Scale so far totally useless and wrong. I wonder if I waste more time on the app than I save in scooping litter 🤔
Initially things did not seem to be accurate (measurements and indications) despite being on a wooden surface, but at some point it seemed that it started working ok. I don't know if the issue was with the app or with the robot.
Fetching any form of historic data is EXTREMELY slow. Very poor experience from a modern app
Early days but for now will say it’s really slow, not sure if it’s WiFi or others but the app Ui needs to communicate this better and give better context, the spinning icon on the sleep button for eg. Almost never the app is updated when you open it, you have to force close it and open it again. UI is weird, this looks like it was designed in photoshop like it’s 2003, the buttons don’t behave consistently, for eg the power is a button, sleep opens a settings dialog. Can’t just put the machine in sleep mode all the time, would be really helpful to better onboard the cats, the sleep function has a convoluted UI, why trying to reinvent the wheel when iOS has the swift UI extensive library of components it has is beyond me and probably means this app is not written in Swift UI which means it will never be great. no widgets & no live activities
The app is very useful for telling me when the tray has been used and when it needs emptying however what is the point in asking for each of your pets” details when it isn’t going to tell you which if your cats used the tray? It’s irritating that I’ve had to install a camera to tell me something that Whisker have been promising(?)/teasing us with for a long time.
Was fine until it changed to whisker, now many functions don’t work, things like reset gauge rarely ever works on the app for some reason but it was fine on the original litter robot app.
I got my cats
Notifications are quick but I find that the info doesn’t compute as quickly when the app opens, so it takes some refreshing. Despite this, I am a Litter Robot convert. I have two cats and am in awe at its ability to differentiate between them and display their toilet habits so gracefully.
We really love our Litter-Robot 4 which we bought in March, and so does our cat. It makes having a indoor cat super easy and odour free. The deep clean is a bit of a chore when it’s dirty but easy enough. We would recommend getting one if you live a busy lifestyle.
