Unfortunately not my favourite stay in mad monkey branch. Main attraction would be location. Superior room extremely small. No space for luggage. Connection for access to bedroom with phone was poor. Facilities shower heads broken on floor 3. Toilet seats broken. Not ideal for anyone who is starting off in Australia. Would maybe suit backpackers passing through. Note reception on floor 3. Anyone with heavy luggage would struggle.
Needs a new manager
Myself and my friend where never treated as badly by a hostel manager than this one. We arrived on the 1st of march our original check out date was the 15th of march. But after a few days we decided to extend our stay till the 19th. Music and drinking in the common room was a regular occurrence for all guests . Myself and my friend joined on two occasions. The next day my friend confirmed our stay with reception and everything was fine. Then the morning of the 15th , our old check out date we get a message at 9.57am to say they cannot extend our stay and check out is 10.am . Which I have proof of .When we approached the desk the manager was there and she couldn’t of been any less helpful she didn’t care she had given us 3 minutes to pack our bags and find somewhere else to stay the only excuse she gave is we were drinking after hours .. which happened every night in the hostel and continued to happen after we left so the rule wasn’t being fairly implemented among all guests . The other staff in the hostel were so nice and friendly but from the treatment from that manager alone I will not be back in the hostel and I will not be recommending to anyone
