Grandstream Wave FAQ
Is Grandstream Wave free?
Yes, Grandstream Wave is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Grandstream Wave legit?
⚠️ The Grandstream Wave app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Softphone works well, the sound quality is great (depends on the other party’s phone and codec settings) and rings out every time no matter it’s 4g or wifi connection on the smartphone. Unfortunately to build up the call sometimes fails mostly (always) on 4G network but it depends how busy mast you connected to. I found that busy areas with loads of traffic makes the calls less successful to build up but same providers network but less busy area will leading mostly successful call establishing. I’ve tried using vpn on my mobile phone and found that it helps a lot. After 10 test calls from the app in busy area on 4G,no success calls, but using vpn (nord) with uk server 80% successfully build calls. So the mobile network can be the reason of the unsuccessful calls/no sound/ “waiting for the other party peer connection” or endless “connecting “ messages. On wifi, calls all the time were successful and good/perfect quality.
Doesn’t work
This app doesn’t work on iPhone, use it as a virtual extension to out office phone system and it just doesn’t work. Cuts calls off when you answer and never works when connected to the car
Totally Unusable on ios
Calls don’t come through unless the app is open and on the screen. I just get a missed call notification. The rest is fine but this lack of basic functionality makes the app unusable.
A bit broken
Caller ID just shows unknown when Wave Lite shows correct caller id.
Also if another phone picks up the incoming call or it goes to voicemail, this app will continue to “ring” (this doesn’t happen on the lite version)
Frequently halts updates
I have pretty much come to the point of force quitting the app two or three times a day as a preventative measure. I frequently find it no longer updates. I often see notices of a missed call that never rang on my phone, and often see that the most recent call in the history is old and numerous calls have come in since that time. Force quitting and reopening always restores, but usually only lasts several hours.
User
Useless, no stability
Crashing
5 seconds then keep crashing
i hope the company solve this issue
Crashing
After latest updates, the app still crashes after 5 seconds of starting.. ios 16.3
Lovely - until it isn’t
Having the app & being able to work away from the office is one of many reasons why I chose grandstream phone system. My WAVE app quit working a couple months ago and apparently no one can seem to help. It’s extremely frustrating. I do not give out my personal cell phone number so it’s not as easy as just *use your phone*. I use the app for a reason. So much for it contributing to productivity.
Bug with incoming calls
Incoming calls never stop ringing if I answer them on a handset. This makes it difficult to use the app unless it’s the only device you’re using.
