I like the idea of the app. But it seems like it’s now inundated with so many people that you can get past a certain level. Guru picks are now the unicorn and without those you can’t level up past a certain point. The chat function should also be separate from the team matches. Any team discussions get lost. Hopefully these issues will get resolved. I like the idea of the app.
Trash app, no skill needed, just fork over $$$
There is zero legitimacy to this app. They claim there are cash prizes yet there’s no way to link your payment source. The competitions are pay to win basically. It has nothing to do with the actual art of photography. Total scam. Don’t waist your money.
The misleading money prize values has been resolved, tool bundles now just say what they are, in app tools. It seems the last update didn’t block me from playing without updating which is good cause I can’t afford a new phone just to play. Sooner or later I won’t have a good enough device to update. The beta battles tab needs to be either worked on or moved until it’s sorted out. It’s been so long with no activity taking place in the feature. Like driving past road construction that has no noticeable improvement. Report button needs far more options. There’s nowhere to report porn except “adult content” but adult content is allowed on the app and not necessarily being reported to get deleted. Porn removal should have priority over adult content reports. Nothing reported for porn should be voted on until reviewed and resolved, and anyone falsely reporting to sabotage should be banned. This would help prevent both the vulgar content and the abuse of the report feature. AI imagery is banned but there’s nowhere to report it making the ban meaningless unless enforced. There’s already people posting entire AI images and getting guru picks/top votes over genuine artists. The block feature is missing. No button exists to block another user but FAQ says there is. Following instructions to block someone leaves you in a wild goose chase. Please fix these issues.
Tried to log on and received a message saying I was banned for violating TOS. I opened a support ticket for verification because I did nothing outside of what was allowed and was told that my images were AI generated and copyrighted. I was asked to provide the RAW images to show they were my own, which I did. I gave not only the originals but also other shots from the same photo sessions proving they were mine. Since then Guru Shots has not made any attempt to reply to me or compensate me for the exhibition challenge I paid to apply to which ended during my ban time. They falsely accused me of using fake photos and won’t admit to it when proven wrong. My account remains banned and there is no indication that GS has any intention in correcting their error.
Because of Guru shots I have been featured in art exhibition and a few photography magazines and I’ve made friends with the coolest people, awesome place to show your art.
In app purchases are lame, and I think there’s a real lack of creativity and truly inspiring posts are neglected while typical HDR landscapes are popular. I feel like it would be more successful if it was based on ad revenue instead of paywalls, they really ruin what could have been a really cool experience.
I've been playing for a few years now and enjoy the competitive format one thing i do wonder is how one is awarded free swaps and keys, other than having to purchase them, another thing is what are the GS point good for? One should be able to trade them in for , swaps, keys or boost otherwise I don't see what they are really for?
I have had so much fun viewing the talents of other photographers and sharing my creativity as well. Thank you!
Love posting and getting feedback from my photos. Just some minor lagging issues when a pop up happens which does get old quick.
