The title says it all. The iPhone app and desktop apps don’t work, I tried to upload 10gb of data into 1tb of storage capacity and the system wasn’t capable of doing it. The auto upload of photos and videos in the IOS app doesn’t work. Can load one file at a time and it takes over 4min to upload a 4mb file. Not worth the money, the company behind this have obviously spent all there money of advertising and nothing on the systems.
There are a lot of things lacking with IceDrive that need to be changed, the main issues include the following: - Outdated UI which feels sluggish and unenjoyable to use (without any support for copy and pasting files) - Extremely slow server speeds in Australia - The UI seems as if nothing is happening in the background when you upload a file (No progress bar at certain times) Please fix these issues as they ruin the service On the upside: - The customer support is great - The encrypted storage is the best you can possibly get
This is a great service! Fast, secure and very well designed. When the next version of the app and desktop apps finally arrives, it will really make Icedrive the best service out there.
Icedrive came recommended as a service similar to pcloud so I figured I’d give them a chance. Thankfully I started with a small storage tier (paid for life), figured if I like it I’ll upgrade later. But unfortunately the icedrive app is riddled with bugs that make the app unusable and they don’t seem to be in a hurry to fix anything, last I checked the app hadn’t been updated in over 11 months. Doesn’t seem like they’re even putting an effort into it. At this point I’ve accepted that I’ve wasted my money on this service that I’ll probably never be able to use.
App must have updated automatically, now I’m logged out and can’t log back in. Login screen buttons do nothing. The app is hit or miss. Tried reinstalling.
I had IceDrive’s lifetime subscription for over three years now. I think if the developer invests a portion of the money they get from lifetime subscription into JP Morgan’s professionally managed JEPI and JEPQ, they together can yield about 10% per year if the times is good. And also invest a portion into treasury bonds from the US government that are yielding 4-5% per year up to 30 years, those should pay for the subscription itself if not more. I hope this helps!
Two improvements I suggest are: 1. Allow user to set a security pin for the phone app. Security pin will be asked everytime you open the app (different from logging in) 2. Media player controls should hide when a tap is made
Hey! Not sure why some users complaining, but I’m really enjoy to use this app. I have Linux, Mac, Windows, iOS and all devises sync with no issues. I like minimalistic desig and functionality. And I hope that developers will not trashing the app with functions which nobody need.
If I delete files/folders, they never get deleted even though it says moved to trash. Wasted money on lifetime subscription.
Can’t download whole folder. Can’t download all photos together if there’s more than a few of them.
