Horrible app, from a company I’ve lost faith in
You can’t have important notifications about your cleaning cycle and not also get bothered to buy things, or by promotions, daily. This is a deal breaker and exemplifies part two of the title, the company is a non stop cash grab with extortionate running costs and “bundles” that ensure you just buy more than you need, which are then pushed out daily by the app you are required to use. I won’t buy another iRobot product sadly, they’ve lost what made them special in every sense, including technically falling behind competitors, which can also be seen in this app with “cleaning maps” that you can’t actually do anything with and the constant force quits if you do click on one of the sales pitch notifications. I’m also concerned about the location and cross app tracking they ask permission to use. Lost my faith and after 20 years as a customer, I’m out.
Problem with App
As others have stated when a notification comes through it takes you to then app them immediately closes the app. Needs an update!
Refill tank
Have to reconnect to WiFi after every clean to get it to refill the tank. Does not do this automatically which I think it should. Sometimes app doesn’t even offer the option to refill the tank. Have tried customer service but very poor response. Was told ‘wait for an update’….then change ur advertising

Easy to use, amazing on the carpet!
The Roomba j7+ really helps me keep my house clean every day (it’s amazing on the carpets). I’ve connected it with Alexa, so it’s very easy for me to activate it by simply saying, “Alexa, clean”. The only thing I would add is an option to recognize dirty spots and go directly to clean them. Sometimes, after you’ve just vacuumed, something might drop on the floor, and you are too lazy to clean it yourself, so you would like the Roomba to handle it without doing a full cleaning cycle.
Good robot, but poor app
The cleaning performance is nice and there are some cases when robot completes job smoothly without the need for intervention. But I’m tired of different hiccups of app/system which happens at least once per week: * notification says “you have a new message”, but the app unexpectedly crashes once I click on that notification * several times roomba runs out of battery so it loses connection (actually not sure if that’s the case, but roomba wasn’t reacting to any button presses) * every time it looses connection I has to reconnect it to wifi again which takes several minutes * sometimes roomba app says “ready to vacuum” but when I start a job nothing happens (status changes to something like “starting job” and then unexpectedly back to “ready” while roomba stays still at base) So fr rebooting it and reconnecting to wifi helps, but it requires much more intervention than I wanted. Ideally I want a robot which does it job silently every morning and I just clean filters/replace spares
Luv it!
It’s a good vacuum for its size. The dust bin fills quickly and I always clean the filter when I empty the bin. If you have the money you could put a new filter cartridge in every time. I use a nail brush to get the loose debris off. If the bin does need attention when working, the vacuum will tell you, so you can get on with other jobs in between the bin attention. We have a dog and live in a rural area so it has its work cut out.
