I really like this app and don’t mind paying for it but I let my account lapse, and the reactivating feature doesn’t work. I’ve emailed support and there has been no reponse.

I trued to start using the app, but before I could even see anything it just said “Unable to connect to Kanji Garden to download required functionality. Please try again later!” Like, what does that even mean?
There is no extra fluff or nonsense this is the real deal it’s just simple streamlined kanji learning, you can tell the data comes from good sources and it’s designed perfectly well with the user in mind. I am also surprised it provides a free trial upfront without asking for card info or anything, not trying to sneak anything by. I will most likely pay for it after because I find it really is a good app that I will keep using
I’m really enjoying Kanji Garden and feel I am learning better than other Kanji apps. The gamification reminds me a little bit of some popular game apps where you grow or build things. Also the way it doesn’t let you add more Kanji unless maintain a “high score” helps with longer term retention better than other apps I’ve tried. My only critique is that I’d like there to be more audio playback of the various pronunciations; sometimes they have them sometime they don’t. Because of this I feel I my reading comprehension is improving but my speaking not as much.
This app has expensive in-app purchases, but that info is completely hidden from the app page description. There isn’t even an in-app “upgrade” option anywhere until you’ve had it installed for a while — making nearly all users think it’s free. The dev wants your email for push notifications to be turned on, but that’s not a requirement for any Apple product. Anki is $25 USD. This has a monthly subscription option or a one-time $125 USD option. Get bent.
I appreciate the style of this app and what it’s trying to do. It’s clean and concise interface is easy to use and understand. But it only guides you through kanji. For the price the dev is asking, I can subscribe to two other apps that will take me thru hiragana, katakana and grammar, plus teach me some basic kanji... And then I can set up Anki for not much more than the cost of my own time and have a complete Japanese learning experience for less than the SUBSCRIPTION code of kanji garden.
This is a beautifully designed app. I was learning so much until it said that the trial expired. REALLY! It never said that in the app description and I thought that finally, after searching so long I had found what I wanted. How else am I going to learn kanji now?🙁 I guess I didn't really expect it to be free. But overall,it's a good app for some one with the money.
An Ingenious Tool for Learning Kanji This is the first review I’ve ever written, and it’s all because of the extraordinary dedication and detail put into Kanji Garden. I felt the least I could do is spend a little time writing something positive about it. I even subscribed after the trial! Many reviews have already highlighted the app’s strengths, so I’ll try to add something different. I keep discovering new content as I learn. As mentioned, the kanji are structured to build on each other, which is extremely helpful. Initially, I thought the example sentences were too advanced, but then I realized you can press on almost anything for more information. This feature made the app invaluable to me. The vocabulary, example sentences, and the unique learning method make each kanji a lesson in and of themselves that prepares you for the next. If you’re serious about learning Japanese Kanji, this app and its innovative style are definitely worth having as tools in your arsenal. Highly recommended!
Third party pay service doesn’t facilitate the cancellation of subscriptions and the only way to do so is to contact the developer that doesn’t respond to emails.
I used to love this app, but now it won’t even load for me. It gets stuck on a loading screen whenever I open it, so it’s basically useless now. Can’t even contact the developer through the app store, because it just routes me back to the broken app. Sad!
