Great!
Throughly enjoying using the app. It’s really simple, but incredibly powerful. Love being able to learn the on’yomi and kun’yomi as other apps I’ve used don’t distinguish.

I’ve been using this app for awhile now and have learnt a lot of Kanji in a short amount of time. It teaches you all the meanings of a Kanji. I like the rate of progression and how you can track it. It’s well worth the $5 a month subscription fee. There are things that I think could be improved but these are minor.
This is quite buggy. Often after completing challenges the arrow button at the bottom becomes unresponsive. For some challenges options are displayed at the top of the screen, with such broken layout it's impossible to tap on least one or even two of the answers. When playing through the wallpaper, the last frame is always completely black. A lot of the words just don't have corresponding audio, which makes them much harder to learn. Overall, despite all the content, this app still feels very raw and unfinished due to numerous bugs and incomplete audio content coverage.
I brought the app last year for a year and had a couple of issues which I tried to resolve with the provider but without success. They immediately charge me for another year. I wrote to them but got neither reply no cancellation. They could have seen that I stopped using the app half a year ago. The app is not bad but does not synchronise when you use it on different devices.
It’s plain, it’s simple, and it doesn’t stop me from going at my own pace nor does it bog me down in a ton of extra things I don’t care about. This is the best kanji learning tool I’ve used and would happily recommend to anyone, especially as it’s free for the first month.
Without the premium your forced to learn the kanji’s at hand instead of rushing ahead and ultimately causing yourself to fail.
Title pretty much explains it all. There are multiple speeds you can go at, so if you can’t spend too long on KG you can set it so that you only get 5 minutes of reviews a day, or on the opposite end about 20 minutes. I like the fact that there’s a daily streak too (you can miss a couple days when your streak is high enough), this helps keep KG quite a big thing in my head so I keep learning each day, but failing that there are reminders you can turn on. Aside from the functionality of the app itself it even comes with a couple of dark themes, very convenient if you’re studying at night or if you have an iPhone with an OLED screen.
This app is great - lots of nice tweaks you can make to your own taste. Really like the additional information on semantic and phonetic components (somehow for me that works better than creating a random mnemonic). I like that it gives you all the Onyomi and Kunyomi readings plus examples... and stroke order. You can even set your learning speed. For $5 a month (after the free trial)... I’m definitely signing up.
It’s so good I’m willing to pay for it, but are you seriously charging $125 dollars for a lifetime subscription? If you want anyone to seriously consider paying for this, it should be 3 USD per month, or 15 dollars a year, and 25 dollars for a lifetime subscription (this is how economics works, would you yourself pay this much for someone else’s app?) For people scrolling through the reviews, you get 4 weeks of “premium” access, after which the app restricts how much you learn... ironic.
Really well designed app with a lot of great functionality. Have gotten addicted to this and have learned far more kanji in a week than I learned in 6 years in Japan. Was surprised to find after using it a while that what I was using was a free 4 week trial and that it would cost 5/month or $125 for lifetime use but it's good enough that I'm debating it despite being really tight financially.
