Unusable

I set the iso of my film . When I metered the scene ,the iso kept changing on the meter reading. This makes the app unusable for shooting film .

No colour temp meter on the free app

I specifically needed a colour temperature meter however, this is not available with the free app despite the fact it implies it is included. I’ve not tested the simple light metering so can’t give an opinion on that.

Perfect for spot metering

Started using this for metering 4x5 black and white. Using it in spot meter mode to put the darkest parts into zone -2 works brilliantly - just dial in a correction and find the spot you want. And keep an eye on the EV display to judge dynamic range. Allows you to take notes and location with a photo too - perfect.

£300 and you can’t even lock aperture

Seriously they sell this for £300 and in their app you can lock the aperture and have shutter or iso be the variable that change based on the reading that’s so amateur. I tried to contact their support but it keep forcing me to text a US number for support which I can’t as I am in the U.K. I will not be using this as this is such a big fault and basic features they missed.

Excellent

The Lumu is an excellent piece of kit for photographers who like to have accurate information and control. I got this, initially, for its colour temperature facility, a good , 3 colour, CT meter is expensive on its own. The Lumu gives very accurate CT readings, and indicates colour shifts. The flash function is also accurate and gives flash duration as well. The other features and readings add to the usefulness and versatility. A small lightweight piece of kit makes it very convenient to have with you.

Are you kidding?

Dear Lumu Labs, As you already know (and the reason why you have cleared down all the reviews) this app doesn't work with the Lumu device. At all. My Lumu is now useless. How dishonest are you. At least put up a notice on the App Store. Kind regards, Chris Bonney

Good App, nice features

Nice all in one App. It measures light and will keep a note of the date and time as well as the exposure settings which is really handy when using a film camera which has no exif. Could do with a "sync only on wifi" setting to stop the very annoying no mobile data popup every time the app is reopened. I have a separate app for recording location. It would be great if Lumu did that all in the one app.
