How do I get started?
- Maybank customers:
(i) With M2U ID - simply log in with your M2U ID and all your M2U settings will be automatically synced with the MAE app.
(ii) Without M2U ID - register for one online on the Maybank2u website.
- Non-Maybank customers: skip the queue at the branch and sign up instantly with just your phone to enjoy all the benefits of a Maybank customer.
The MAE app will seek permission for the following:
i. Access to your camera to enable you to scan QR code and also upload documents when you apply for a new product or service.
ii. Access to your contact directory to give you the convenience of selecting your contacts when you make a transaction to a mobile number.
iii. Access to your location to offer you the most relevant food listings, marketing promotions or deals by our merchant partners while you are on the go.
iv. Access to your phone’s audio to enable you to make a direct call to the bank's hotline.
v. Access to your settings to enable push notifications to receive Secure2u alerts.

Poor user experience
This app never works properly. It requires me to put in an OTP but i never receive it.

Trash. Made everything so complicated
Making everything more complicated and time consuming
Horrible. Does not work. Need to switch between apps and website. Make things so much harder than they are.
Very poor, can we have the old Maybank app returned, that works!

Can’t handle password change
Can’t handle password change with a completely new password
Could not uplift FD due to secure2u issue
I can’t uplift my FD due to the secure2u issue. The previous app worked fine, TAC was smooth as well. This MAE app is not fit for purpose.

can’t transfer can’t make payments can’t even use my card. can’t login can’t check profile can’t open settings. nothing
Cannot register for secure2u
Maybank said the app will be the only way to access secure2u for any transaction approval. Unfortunately the app is buggy and I’ve tried many many times to register for secure2u and it just gives the error “Sorry your request is unsuccessful“. Please don’t release app without proper testing. Also, why do you have multiple apps for your customers? That’s just confusing. Stick to one app only rather than telling customers to download this or that new app.
Not reliable
If it works, it works for twice or thrice only. Then it freezes. You have to delete the apps and redownload it all over again. Very annoying. Maybe doesn’t work well with iphone 14
