Even basic functionality is missing
I was hesitant on the iOS app based on reviews and the last update being over 9 months ago, but I only need basic functionality which is sadly missing. Simple things like CMD+D to remove reference does not work; You can’t drag and drop items into groups, as your groups are not listed on the left hand side - why does a simple command now require 6 taps to complete? Even bulk editing references - why can’t I multi-select references and delete them?
For the cost of Endnote, and Zotero’s new app, there is honestly no point using Endnote really.
Not compatible with Apple iCloud storage
I use EndNote on my MacBook without any issues, but the iPad app is not useful to me as it’s not compatible with iCloud files library. Not sure why you’d bother developing an app for an Apple device, which is not then compatible with Apple cloud storage. The only options are Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. If you don’t have all your data stored on one of these, don’t bother with this app.
Good except for creating new references
Annotation making tools are quite impressive, this is the main reason I have this app on my IPad, but it’s literally impossible to download and add new pdf references to libraries, I hope they look into that in the future versions
Frequently crash to the desktop
Very annoying
iOS version can’t CWYW
Really disappointment there’s no CWYW feature on iOS. I’m a longtime user that might have to change citation tools now that my workflow is completely on iPad.
Simply will not log in
The frustration of having such an excellent app on my computer and being completely unable to get it to work on my iPad!
I love endnote but not the buggy iOS version
I’ve been using endnote since it first came out more than 20 years ago. I love love love the PC version and have taught classes in it many times. I was sooooo excited when the iOS version came out, and I’ve tried to patiently give it time to fix the bugs, but I’ve now been using it for several years, and I’m still disappointed. It takes **a long time** to sync — like 20-30 minutes typically — which just seems like a really long time to have to sit there with the app open — and then it crashes and doesn’t actually sync. So, I’ve resigned to just using it as a static document, where the concept of edits is out of the question. I really really want to love this, but this syncing problem is going to have to get fixed for that to happen.
Good so far but some bugs
Really want to give this 5 stars but there’s some bugs and missing features holding it back. 4 stars with bug fixed, 5 with feature added
KEY BUG: citations within ‘groups’ do not show in the groups section of the library. My library syncs, shows all references within the ‘my library’ folder’, says there’s x references within a group, but does not display these references when navigated to the groups folder (displays as if it were blank)
KEY FEATURE PLS: The ‘notes’ part of citations is really limited. I would love it if, after annotating a PDF within the endnote app, I could then write a summary of the paper in a way that is easy to view at a glance (when looking through grouped citations in my library). When writing such notes, I need to be able to use formatting. This would eliminate me needing to keep a seperate word document of paper summaries and allow me to streamline my lit review into one system/location
iOS15 keyboard
Thanks for fixing this. Order had been restored 😀
Keyboard doesn’t appear on iPad OS 15.
Hi, the keyboard does not appear on iPad OS 15 making it impossible to add new references. Defeats the purpose of the whole app! Please fix asap. Thank you.
