EndNote Reviews

Please fix it

Always crashes. Please fix it asap.

Cite whilst you write function

Samone84 on

Australia

This app is missing the main point of it, being able to cite while you write…. There are other referencing apps that allow this on iPad… why doesn’t this?

Now won’t open at all

Ohmelaniez on

Ever since the newest update, this app crashes immediately on opening. Incredibly infuriating. I purchased my ipad mainly so I could use it to read and annotate Endnote articles when away from my computer, so this is very disappointing! Please fix asap!!

Even basic functionality is missing

Xomy103 on

Australia

I was hesitant on the iOS app based on reviews and the last update being over 9 months ago, but I only need basic functionality which is sadly missing. Simple things like CMD+D to remove reference does not work; You can’t drag and drop items into groups, as your groups are not listed on the left hand side - why does a simple command now require 6 taps to complete? Even bulk editing references - why can’t I multi-select references and delete them? For the cost of Endnote, and Zotero’s new app, there is honestly no point using Endnote really.

Not compatible with Apple iCloud storage

Megan88 on

Australia

I use EndNote on my MacBook without any issues, but the iPad app is not useful to me as it’s not compatible with iCloud files library. Not sure why you’d bother developing an app for an Apple device, which is not then compatible with Apple cloud storage. The only options are Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. If you don’t have all your data stored on one of these, don’t bother with this app.

Good except for creating new references

Annotation making tools are quite impressive, this is the main reason I have this app on my IPad, but it’s literally impossible to download and add new pdf references to libraries, I hope they look into that in the future versions

Frequently crash to the desktop

Very annoying

iOS version can’t CWYW

research_student on

Australia

Really disappointment there’s no CWYW feature on iOS. I’m a longtime user that might have to change citation tools now that my workflow is completely on iPad.

Simply will not log in

The frustration of having such an excellent app on my computer and being completely unable to get it to work on my iPad!

I love endnote but not the buggy iOS version

Jfishgoddess on

Australia

I’ve been using endnote since it first came out more than 20 years ago. I love love love the PC version and have taught classes in it many times. I was sooooo excited when the iOS version came out, and I’ve tried to patiently give it time to fix the bugs, but I’ve now been using it for several years, and I’m still disappointed. It takes **a long time** to sync — like 20-30 minutes typically — which just seems like a really long time to have to sit there with the app open — and then it crashes and doesn’t actually sync. So, I’ve resigned to just using it as a static document, where the concept of edits is out of the question. I really really want to love this, but this syncing problem is going to have to get fixed for that to happen.
