I booked a taxi from Heathrow Airport to Windsor for December 8th, 2023. The initial process was seamless. Everything was great. The problem started after I landed. I realized that my traveling companions were arriving at a different terminal. I notified the driver 1 hour 5 minutes before the pickup time of the change. I could have cancelled the trip instead. I chose not to. I notified the driver of the terminal change. I then got a call from the taxi company dispatcher who said he was including an amendment charge due to the change in pickup location. I had no choice at this point to agree but I did inform the man that I wound be contesting the charge through Minicabit. When I returned to New York, I contacted Mincabit support and informed them of my displeasure. They eventually responded and told me that the charge was for a late pickup. I don’t know how that was possible since I had approved the amendment charge over 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. They offered zero help except some kind of puny discount on future trips. There’s no way I am going to use them in the future based on this experience.
I use minicabit for airport transfers and it is always very reliable. My only issue with the app is that it sometimes lags when I try to make a booking, however the cab service itself is great.
Every trip to and from LHR, the only transportation that my family and I use is one of the car services through “minicab.” I must say that each visit has exceeded my expectations. The scheduling through their app is quick and easy, and I enjoy having the options of the type of car service that I can choose from. I do agree that a toll free number should be available to avoid expensive prone costs, however the communication via their app has worked out wonderfully to date.
The app is ok but could use tracking features as some have mentioned. I’d like a feature to talk to my driver without “talking”. I could not comprehend what they were saying and responding to what they were saying proved pointless. My driver for the future home airport trip never showed so I caught a black cab 35 minutes past my planned pickup. I expect a full refund but if not, look for more harsh reviews to pop up elsewhere.
The driver lost the car in the airport parking lot and was over an hour late! I made a complaint and was just ignored, don’t use this service unless it’s with a credit card so you can chargeback if they screw you.
I have been using minicabit to and from the airport several times a year and am always impressed with the service. The driver for my recent trip, Amit, was exceptional! I’m happy to have this option available when I travel.
You are essentially at the mercy of the cab company being booked via Minicabit which means there’s nothing they can do if they don’t show up or end up being unprofessional during the trip. I learned this the hard way when I had an issue and contacted Minicabit customer service who essentially ignored what I said and took the side of the cab company. Make sure you research the cab company yourself to ensure they’re legit and will actually show up, and best of luck getting any useful help from Minicabit if the situation goes down south!
Not user friendly at all!
Hello, Initially I was very happy with the efficiency of the email confirmation prior to leaving the US for our recent 10 day Scotland vacation from Aug19-30. However, on Aug. 19, our plane was delayed at a layover stop in Dublin, and this delayed our arrival at the Edinburgh airport. Our Minicab driver arrived in time at the Edinburgh airport and texted me of his arrival. I quickly told him what happened (texted) and wanted to reschedule the cab time for 11:30. He told me to call or email Minicab, he couldn’t help me. I had an International phone plan but still could not reach Minicab. We finally took a bus to Edinburgh but I had a large suitcase and it was a total struggle. On Aug 30 our Minicab driver arrived early (7am) per our request. I asked the Hotel Bonham staff to call Minicab and Mcab changed our pickup time to 7 am. Overall, in believe this frustrating experience could be avoided if Minicab provided travelers with an easy toll free number to call (no emails!) if their flights are changed mid trip. Thank you.
