Never again WD
Very poor support from WD, pushes you to buy a new device, while those of us with the old one can only access data at home. Shameful for the company to do such a thing.

Update 2023: WDGeneralNetworkError Error 500 is our latest show-stopper. (Older. was it ever fixed?):Simple operations fail. All I want to do is copy a folder from internal storage on a my passport wireless pro to an external usb drive. “A file already exists at this location” error comes up mid-copy and you have to start over.
This app used to recognize my WD connected to my modem, it doesn’t anymore. My computer still does what this app used to, so disappointed
Good drive. Does the job but needs improvement in organizing data
What a great little portable hardware/storage/server/software. This app is just great!! Easy to use, very simple to move around in and connect too. There is lots of help and support from the community and technical support. I had to get it replaced one time because of a hardware issue but it was shipped in and replaced with in a week. The app I can access from anywhere in the world and hook in to my server and extract any files or documents or anything I store on it from anywhere I want, I have had this program and the hardware for over 5 years now and it has never let me down, not even once. Thank y’all for making this app/software and the sever/storage unit that goes along with it. Great job look forward to the next product release that can bring me and other people the same easy access and less headache then most of these technical logical devices were you need major, switchboard, and stuff just to set it up and have a server room is all did a great job with having compact portable that has a great software that goes with it…..
Never worked from the beginning. Now it’s just an expensive paperweight. I would stay away from western digital all together. Anything that requires an app to run is horrible. Absolute piece of junk. Not happy.
I now get the error “Invalid Operation “ “ A file already exists at this location, or a invalid operation was attempted “ Didn’t happen before and you have no fix.
Extremely disappointed in WD because they will no longer support the mycloud product I bought years ago. Am not able to upload any photos from my phone to it anymore. Will never purchase WD products again!
Thanks to the the update, WD has deemed my perfectly working product old and no longer supported. What a huge middle finger to all of those customers who purchased your product early on and helped get you to where you are. Instead we’re just left abandoned as WD urges us to buy their newer products. Sorry, you lost me.
Since Weston digital decided to remove access due to “security reasons” however they never expressed what type of security reasons there were. Yeah yeah yeah proprietary reason, I don’t by it. Since WD remove the access to remote in anyway why not disclose what the issue was for all those users who purchased drives and expected it work. however because western digital determined otherwise now we are out of luck. Shame on them! They should have upgraded the firmware instead of swindling people to buy a new device or be stuck with a non useable NAS Server. My assumption is they remove the access to force users to purchase new drives to increase their overall revenue. If they weren’t after increasing their revenue then why didn’t they provide a those users who were affected a realistic offering than 25% which is nothing. considering the amount of money that was invested into purchasing the drive initially. We all supported this company to make them what they are today, shame on us for thinking this company would stand behind their customers. This will be my last WD purchase, I’d rather go with other brands that actually care for the customers then only about the revenue. WD can respond to this review all they want but if they would’ve done the right thing by the customers to begin with then there wouldn’t be so many people out of luck for a product they purchased with the understanding they could connect to it but now they can’t unless they are within their own Network, thus making the NAS obsolete like WD.
