New App My SmartBike, by MAHLE, provides you an enhanced e-bike riding experience by using your smartphone as the interface to your bicycle. Our application is designed to help tune, customize e-bike performance and enjoy your trips. Connect with your e-bike and adjust your preferences, customize motor maps to adapt the MAHLE SmartBike System to your personal necessities, remaining batteries, record your activities, have access to statistics, see bike location and more.

If you need detailed information and a dynamic experience, our web app (www.my-smartbike.com) enables you to analyze the routes in detail and graphically comparing data as elevation, health-related data and exclusive metrics from e-bikes, the tour on maps and share it through third platforms.

Great bike

No regrets buying this bike. Nice, relaxed, geometry, nicely, balanced, and excellent value for money. Is extending my riding life by years.

Pretty bad

It’s pretty bad. What does this app (other than tell you battery life, which you can guesstimate anyway) do that other apps like Strava don’t do much better? Can’t pair apple Watch as the heart rate monitor. If you need to update your X35 system, Mahle has weirdly made it impossible for owners to run the update from home, and shrouded all battery maintenance/replacement processes in total secrecy.

eBike Bricking Tool

Once again, this app has bricked my bike.As soon as the app detected that I needed an update, it disabled the electronics, With no dealer in town; my expensive eBike is just a bike. Not happy. THIS FEATURE NEEDS TO FIXED WITH ORBEA BIKES AND THIS APP….. NOW! Edit, finally visited an authorised dealer, and with the use of a cheap USB flash drive, a dongle cable and 30 seconds … all good; not forgetting the travel time and waiting in store. Why can’t users have access to these simple and cheap items and firmware files?

Update makes it unusable

If you go from a ride before updating your app - it doesn’t work AT ALL. This is completely unacceptable for a gravel bike support app, where they know their customers are going out to regional places with no signal to ride This is an unbelievably unacceptable way of doing an updates Edit: so the March 2023 update is adding a news feed??? Do we need ANOTHER social media app? You seriously prioritized THIS for development when you haven’t even replicated the basic functions of the old app yet? God grief! What kind of company let’s Marketing idiots lead development decisions?

Quite an appropriate app’

Despite all the negative vibes this app’ is receiving, I find it quite OK to use. There is a couple of minor, for me, problems. 1. The app’ is heavy on smartphone battery and runs out of power, the phone that is, after around 50Km for my riding style. 2. When saving a ride the app’ is very sensitive to an accidental touch of the screen and consequently all ride data is lost. Luckily by being tied with Strava, the ride stats are not lost. Otherwise I find the app’ OK

Not worth the effort

A pleasing enough UI is let down by poor connection to the hardware. In my instance I am connecting the a 2021 Merida eSilex 400; and by connecting I actually mean struggling to connect. I am having to repeatedly link, unlink, and link the bike each time I want to go for a ride. Once the link is established and a ride commenced the application is next to useless. It continually shows speed as 0.0km/h, nor does it update the battery statistic or any statistics calculated off of it. (Percentage, range, etc) Unfortunately this tarnishes the whole riding experience, and I will be looking to return the bike. All because the application to control the bike does not do its job properly.

Disaster

After having a older app that while not perfect was great in its own ways to be forced into a new app that has hardly anything in the ways of monitoring or having mapping this is a disaster. Every time I ride I wish the old app was still available. No rpm, no cadence, no real live monitoring. And the original GPS mapping in the old app was great. Cannot believe someone thought this was a good idea. I wish you could give a minus star because this is a fail.

Finally got an update but nothing useful

Still haven’t added the relative effort measurement so we can see what level of work the motor is doing at any moment. Basically it’s still terrible and the old ebike motion app was much better, which is saying something because it wasn’t great either.

Please make more useable

I tried to find somewhere to send this so I didn’t have to bring your rating down but there is none. This app is too hard to see on the bike when mounted on handle bars on iPhone 11. Please enable dark mode and make the numbers bigger like they used to be. I like the motor settings. Or bring back old app (for which I paid for maps in) so people can chose?

Old app was better

Features I really liked in old eBike Motion app: - Motor assistance monitor - Maps integration This new app seems to connect to bike more consistently and is easier to start recording a session. But I would prefer to use the old app. Please add features to this app or make the old one available again.
