Have been using the MySwimPro app to record number of laps and heart rate for over a year. Recent update now requires paid subscription to access even the most basic information making the app pointless unless you pay. Subscription costs too high for those wanting basic functionality.
Like the other recent reviewers, used my Apple Watch for my swim as usual and got a message blocking my view and demanding £120 a year just to see number of laps and heart rate. No prior warning and a ridiculous price with no lower tiers to even consider. Will be finding a different solution.
Went to record a swim on Apple Watch today and once I started my pool swim a message came up stating that to view swim metrics (distance, heart rate etc) needed to upgrade and pay a subscription. Ruined my pool swim! No warning before update! Bad customer service!
Fine, be greedy and make the new version not show any data on the Apple Watch unless you upgrade, but warn the user on their phone BEFORE their swim - don't wait until they're in the pool already and show a pop up on your watch saying data won't be shown until you upgrade- which no one can do on a pool. Greedy nonsense.
Updated the app today and it’s now glitching and won’t even open anymore, just immediately closing after I click app on my Home Screen
MySwimPro has been helping me really find the feel of water, with work outs that challenge me to progress every session.
I have tapped through every screen. There is simply no option to log a workout. The app is cluttered with pop ups and videos, yet lacking this basic feature. I will be uninstalling it.
Paid fo a years subscription and it stopped working at end of the year, not at the end of 12 months. Also found out if you do not renew subscription you are blocked from accessing all your saved data on your iphone, what’s that about! Both items sufficient for me to not renew subscription.
I like the way the app syncs with Apple health but other than that nothing is tempting me to upgrade to the paid version. For example the basic version doesn’t even have summaries of the distance you’ve swam over the last week/month
Hi, I love the app but when I open water swim in the reservoir on a 1000m course the app never records the correct distance. Sometimes 600m sometimes 800m. Slightly frustrating when I’m putting the work in. Is it because my Apple Watch doesn’t have a SIM card? It still has GPS - any tips gratefully received!
