NetGalley Shelf is a reading and listening app for NetGalley members. NetGalley helps publishers and authors promote digital review copies and audiobooks to book advocates and industry professionals. Publishers make digital review copies and audiobooks available for the NetGalley community to discover, request, read, and review.

NetGalley does not sell any content, including books or audiobooks. Each book on NetGalley is provided to specific members by the publisher directly, at no cost to the NetGalley member. Books on the NetGalley site are used for review and promotional purposes only.

Users of the NetGalley Shelf app will need to register as NetGalley members on NetGalley.com or NetGalley.co.uk, then all your approved NetGalley books and audiobooks will automatically appear in this app. No need to press Download on the NetGalley website!

Reading is easy and convenient using the NetGalley Shelf app. Download approved books for access on the go, or start listening right away with streaming for audiobooks.

Latest update glitch

The latest update crashed the app. It’s logged me out and nothing happens when I press sign in or click on any books.

Updated and won’t let me sign in

One update later it won’t even let me sign in to the app. I need to use it to access audiobooks. This is just frustrating!

Useless

There’s no way to log in (and sync my NetGalley account) so this is kind of useless.

This app does not work

I’ve had this app for one day and it’s incredibly glitchy to the point of being unusable. It won’t let me continue listening to audiobooks I’ve started saying that I’m not authorized when I started listening earlier today. The app is not easy to navigate or user friendly in any way. Very dissatisfied .

Needs font size changes

This app makes it much easier to get books on my device, but it needs a way to increase the font size. I make do by reading in landscape mode and zooming in but it is inconvenient

I love the new changes for PDF

I’m so very grateful that I get the opportunity to read and review books before they are published. But reading a PDF version in the app was cumbersome. So I’m now completely thrilled that you can flip through a PDF like a regular ebook. Thank you so much!!!

Audiobooks sound odd sped up

It’s nice the app can do audiobooks, but when you speed them up, even slightly, it inserts a weird tin-like sound, which increases the faster it gets. Of course, every other app does not do this.

Not able to sign in on iPad

I’d love for this app to work but I cannot seem to sign in on my iPad. After I put in my username and password I get a blank screen. I have the latest update on my iPad and have room for the app. I’m able to sign in on my iPhone, but who wants to read a book on a tiny screen?

Needs more reading tools

While reading, it’s very hard to scroll down a page without either going a page behind or a page forward. There’s also no zoom in or zoom out, so you’re stuck with reading the same size page, which I know isn’t ideal for everyone.

needs improvement

I only downloaded this app to listen to audiobooks since they won’t send to my Kindle. Unlike others, I don’t have many issues with the audio quality. I don’t like how the playback feature when on my Lock Screen only shows how much time is left in the chapter. I much prefer to see how much I have left in the book. I think this app should follow Libby’s format
