If you are overseas do not buy a subscription nhl.tv. So many morning reserved to watch games and completely let down by both the app and the web experience. Chatbot useless and customer service and relevant support articles non-existent. Errors on app, difficult to start/stop subscription over the years, overcharging, and more make this positively the worst experience I’ve had with a sports service. Light years behind anything else on the market.

Nhl.tv doesn’t work on Apple TV as it is not available. The mobile app works, but it is only useful for streaming games. so if you want stats or content you need to additionally download the nhl app. Nhl.tv is meant for internationally audiences so it’s annoying that it’s not available on Apple TV. In terms of the quality of the streams, I have had issues with pixelating on the web feeds and interruptions/stops on many games. In years prior this would happen once in a while, but this new app/service it consistently happens. In terms of customer support, I have written 3-4 emails and have gotten no response. It’s obvious that the internationally audience is not a priority.

If I had any other choice to watch nhl games rather than through this subscription I would do it. Paying money for a subscription and having to use this absolute piece of crap app is borderline robbery. Almost unusable. Recommend the developer to delete the app and redo the whole thing. And Apple to force a refund on all subscriptions.

Frequent crashes, no AppleTV app, frequently logs you out, not intuitive, difficult to scroll through games. The launch came right on day 1 of the season that left so many of us confused. Initially was able to see by the issues, but it’s insane how bad this app is compared to the NBA, NFL and MLB apps. The previous app was straight forward and did its job - now it just feels someone made a wad of cash over the summer, and didn’t deliver on the job. SAD state for an amazing sport.

Unstable feeds, poor audio and a complete letdown from last year when everything was included in 1 NHL app. Been a subscriber for years, and this year is by far the biggest letdown. This app was obviously rushed out without enough testing. Also, please replace the person handling the TV timeouts. ‘Video break in progress’ is poorly timed. Often the feed ends prematurely, not allowing viewers to see replays prior to commercials, and then resume too late catching the game already in play. For example, just watching the Canucks vs Pens and the 2nd period resumed with 18:30 to go and a change in the score. How sad is that!! Sort it out please!

Interval issue is very annoying. Have to track the time of the game with yet another app to know when the game is starting as will just be watching basketball analysis repeats forever if don’t back out and restart. Next major issue is almost every time want to switch and game or relog in, which is regular due to above, have to relog in again. Not only that but when you’re kicked out you see ‘subscribe’ not ‘sign in’ so have to switch to profile and back again to log in! Terrible user experience on mobile.

As compared to NHL.com from previous years this App is a massive step backwards. Constantly have to re-login into the App, constantly need to refresh (especially during breaks), cannot stream directly to smartTV. Hopefully work goes into fixing this. Otherwise you will have a lot of users leave.

Happy subscriber the past few seasons when it was integrated in the NHL app - massive downgrade. Being logged out middle of a game, unable to re-start stream. Having to re-signing the app every day, the list could go on….

I have had to login to the app several times during games. I have encountered multiple errors with the video. This app is ridiculously bad compared to the NHL app last year. Also annoyed by the stop screen during advertising time, sometimes the video does not continue when it’s over.

While it probably is a bit early and things might get fixed with the season progressing, I am not sure I‘ll stick with subscribing for a whole season. Just watching the Rangers opening game and I wonder where a ) the „interval show“ went. Just staring at a black screen with a Zamboni saying that there is a Video Break in progress. I do get that the advertisements probably can‘t be shown overseas but the expert analysis show in between periods used to be there and doesn‘t seem to be any longer. On top of it while stuck on the Zamboni screen the b) feed doesn‘t automatically restart again once the next period start after the interval. I‘ve had to close the app and open it again and again and again to make the feed start again. Still missed the first 2 minutes of the 2nd period. Last but not least there is c) no Apple TV app to watch the games on the big screen. I have to stream it from the ipad to the Apple TV which is using an additional device unnecessarily. Right now, not worth it at full subscription price. A shame really as of all the sport content providers I always thought the NHL app did get it right in the past.
