Notion

Could be mor intuitive. I use it for guitar tabs. A chord diagram editor where just enter the fret number per string could be helpful.

1. Where is the pedal sigh? 2. Its not possible to transpose within the key, only withhin the pitch. And yes, I already joined the Facebook group

The concept is great but unfortunately the amount of bugs is humungous. This app feels like a beta version year after year. Just too many bugs even to start describing them thoroughly. After all these years, and still so many bugs, it is disappointing. I would love to use the app more but I spend more time trying to trick the program and manipulate to avoid the bugs but it’s just too time consuming. I want to work with this app, not spend half the time wondering why the layout has changed when I add or remove a part, why I suddenly can’t change de police or the size of it, why I choose 4 mesures per line and for some reason it changes to 5 or 6 randomly when you add or delete a note, why I can’t delete a line of notes without deleting the chords or lyrics as well etc etc... I could write pages and pages on the amount of bugs that appear under some circumstances and it’s just so frustrating that I end up not using the app anymore because it’s just not user friendly enough in terms of bugs, bugs, bugs... Sorry guys. I love the concept but it’s now time you solve the bugs at this time.

Je cherchais une application pour pouvoir écrire, quelques mesures en aide mémoire, rien de plus… quelques chose de simple et basique. À voir les commentaires précédents, ça avait l’air remplis de bug, mais les commentaires datant, je me suis dit je vais essayer. Et bien ne dépenser pas 15€ pour ça ! Aucune fluidité. On sélectionne une entrée, il ne se passe pas ce qu’on a demandé. On change le titre, ça bug ou alors rien ne change. Grosse déception et suivez les commentaires…

Update 6 months later: I created a ticket as Presonus support suggested. Unfortunately they immediately classified this major bug as ‘our developer team will have a look into it’. With no result or update, as expected. With the ‘major update’ released six month ago, Presonus made it impossible to import exported xml into another music notation software. As expected, they just don’t bother to fix this. Oh yeah, that Portuguese language update the world was really waiting for 🙄 Notion presents itself as a €14 all inclusive notation software. What you really get is a extremely buggy interface with the option to buy instruments as an in-app purchase and no support for Apple Pencil (unless you want to pay extra). This software and its support is a disgrace. After five years of no updates and loads of bugs Notion finally comes with an update. And, yes it’s even worse now. When importing the MusicXml file that was created with Notion, nor Sibelius, nor Finale, nor GuitarPro, nor Musescore can read the tab numbers that where visible in the notion file. 3 months later and still no fix for musicxml export. Nor finale nor Sibelius nor dorico nor guitar pro can import the exported musicxml file from notion. Been around for a long time with music notation software. notion iOS is the worst! Support ticket was closed 2 months ago.

Still too many bug alas. Forget also about Handwriting apart for simple Thing

Maintenance says it all: no updates for about two years now. The program, especially the handwriting feature - which is an extra cost -was full of bugs, even from the beginning, so this absence of any support is incomprehensible and a shame to Presonus. Going through Q&A on their support website makes you read a lot of questions about Notion for iOs... and NO answers at all. They just don’t bother.

Zeer practisch programma, simpel en degelijk!

13.99€ mais on a que les instruments de base. et on doit payer 89cent PAR instru que l'on veut en plus. Bon ça, à la rigueur ok. Mais j'ai écris un morceaux de piano, que je ne peux finir car j'ai droit qu'à 24 mesures !! Impossible de rajouter des mesures. 13.99 pour 24 mesures est fortement décevant, car notion pourrait être un outils formidable pour compléter votre home studio et faire des belles partions bien claire. (+ beaucoup d'options comme transposer etc...) C'est donc une app à améliorer..

Avant j'utilisais symphony P.. Aujourd'hui je suis passé a Notion, parce le premier a simplement disparu honteusement. Du coup, je m'y suis fait, et il s'avère fonctionnel, rigoureux et précis, et surtout sans bugs comparé au premier. Je le conseille à n'importe qui, débutant autant que professionnel, étant professeur de piano pour ma part. Il n'est pas parfait, pas tout a fait intuitif, mais c'est vraiment un outil indispensable et remarquable pour la notation musicale sur ipad.
