With over 10 years in the App Store, Notion Mobile is a free, award-winning music composition tool for iOS, iPadOS®, macOS and more! You’ll effortlessly create dynamic compositions in traditional musical notation or guitar tablature with its intuitive touch-based interface and incredibly broad editing capabilities.
With a user-friendly interface and simple interactive piano keyboard, fretboard, drum pad, and even optional Handwriting Recognition, Notion Mobile makes it easy to get started composing your music. You can also hear your music performed with the most realistic playback possible, using real audio samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.
Notion Mobile is a native cross-platform app, meaning you can write anywhere on any device without requiring a constant Internet connection. And when you’re back online, you’ll be able to sync your work across multiple devices — either through your preferred cloud provider, or through the optional wireless transfer between PreSonus applications on any device. Start your work on one device and finish it on another. Once you are happy with your creation you can share the Notion file, or export as MIDI, MusicXML, PDF or as an audio file.
Compose, edit, and play back your music performed with real piano and orchestral samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios — along with outstanding sampled guitar, bass, drums and other popular instruments. And when you’re ready for more sounds, you’ll find the extensive library of Notion Add-on Soundsets to purchase as part of the Feature Bundle. To save space, the initial app download contains just piano — you can then manage which of the bundled Soundsets to have on your device or keep in the cloud, just tap on Sound Installation.
Notion has been featured in various Apple campaigns including the 2014 YourVerse television commercials and has won several awards, including a prestigious music industry NAMM TEC Award for Best Smartphone/Tablet App.

brill
brill. --- UPDATE: been using it for several months, I still can't believe how this feels even better than the (rather old) desktop version I had! AND now I can enter up to four independent voices on a clef! Anybody who gives this TOP NOTCH software for musicians less than 5 stars, is 1. a cheap tightwad, or 2. an ignorant "musician". This app is an amazing bargain! ---- now with a £20 pencil bought from an electronics store, Notion feels really great to use on my Ipad Pro....absolutely brilliant. The strings sections sounds WAY better than competitors, even on desktop

the string SECTIONS sound BEAUTIFUL! Better sounding than the ones in Sibelius! the latter sounds ghastly in comparison!
Decent app, but can break
This is a fine app for composing, but it seemed to break when making larger scores. It refuses to play audio past the first 10 beats without recording and the rit. is broken, zipping to the end as soon as it reaches the ‘a tempo’ mark.
Fantastic notation app!
Very quick and easy to write up sheet music. I’m not good at finding my way around notation software, but this app feels very intuitive. It’s also easy to adjust and fine tune all aspects of the layout. Adding lyrics used to be very difficult but this has improved greatly with the most recent update, although it still causes the app to crash which is annoying. Hopefully just a bug that will get fixed with the next update? I would find the option to add colour useful, such as changing the colour of the text or page background. An option to include letter notes would also be great.
Notion mobile
The app do not appear in the Apple Store list. The app do not work.
Bug prevents registration
It has been impossible to download the ‘welcome pack’, as the system does not allow a new registration to PreSonus. There is a bug in accepting a new password, despite complying with the criteria. If this issue does not get resolved, I’ll be requesting a full refund
Really great, but please fix this…
I don’t know about anyone else, but as someone who has never notated anything before, this is great. It’s easy to use (once you get the knack of it, which didn’t take long) and very professional. My one complaint is about the subscription pop-up. What happens is, I’ll be using the app when a pop-up for a subscription comes up. Fine, just press the ‘x’ in the corner and it goes away — except for the fact that now, every time I touch the screen, the pop-up comes back. And its right in the middle of the screen so you can’t ignore it. After a bit, it stops, but it’s really annoying none the less, so if you could please fix that, that’d be great. Aside from that, (for me) it’s perfect. 10/10 would recommend.
Useful but crashing
Running iPadOS 16.6 and Notion 3.2.2 the app crashes when returning to the home screen. Latest changes to files are retained but this seriously impedes workflow and is fairly frustrating.
Outside this, the app is very useful and would recommend if crashing is addressed.
Good app, but buggy.
It’s a good app for writing music, but it has some issues. I had trouble working out how to add certain things like tempo changes and the app seemed to crash when trying to slide my finger to increase the number when choosing a tempo. There also doesn’t seem to be any way to rename the files themselves, without exporting them, which is a problem since when creating a new file there hasn’t been any prompt to name it, despite what the guide says, so all of my files are Untitled, with no way to change them.
JUST AWFUL
The app nor the website allow me to sign up. And when I try to contact support, it requires me to sign in!
I foolishly have been using it to create music sheets and bought whole package for £14 but it’s useless because I cannot create an account!
Would love it if I could get support. Until then 1 star. (I have never rated any app before)
MisterMerlin
Wanted to get a feel for the app but a pop up window was insisting I register. I did. Then it insisted on money. I want to know a app is worth the cash before I buy!!
