Nuki Smart Lock

I previously had the ASSA Abbloy ENTR solution, it was not only a non smart device (lack of wifi and smart home integrations) but it failed constantly, the installers blamed the lock mechanism itself. When this arrived it was a pretty quick installation, and the app wizard for setting it up, a breeze. It simply works, it is amazing, I hope Nuki could make some other type of products, because this one (with the fob, keypad, and sensor) works so good, that you want to tell the people about it.

Now just to get Homeapp to work with it properly

I bought few other smart locks before I settled with Nuki, all the others expecting to modify your lock. Nuki was smarter by keeping the lock intact as is, including your key. You just install your Nuki on top of the existing lock and the key. They provide you with Key Fobs, and keypads if you need. It also detect if the door is left ajar. Which is great. The app is simple. You can invite your circle to use the app. I have few ideas of improvements: I wish it will alert me if the door is left unlocked or ajar after certain time user can set. You cannot resend an invitation. You need to delete and recreate the user to resend the invitation after 48hrs elapse. I wish I can unlock the door with my Apple Watch using LTE not only through proximity of the Bluetooth. As I go walking with my LTE Apple Watch without my phone while sometimes I need to unlock the door for someone.

We encountered this app at an AirBnb and it was an ongoing problem throughout our stay. Imagine trying to get into where you’re staying and being faced with a screen that just says “loading…” Imagine trying to leave in a hurry and having to press a button and wait for a device to cycle to unlock the door, having it re-lock the door, and then needing to do it all over again in order to be able to open the door and leave. At the very least, that’s a fire hazard. Plus, the idea of being forced to install somebody’s mystery software on your phone with no control over what sort of data is being collected? Obnoxious and unacceptable.

So it’s been a year or so. I absolutely love this product. Safe. Secure. Easy to use.

Please add the option to *not* show any prompts when using iPhone action button! Make it so you only press+hold the button and door opens - that simple! No confirmation popups before or after unlock!!! Edit: No, I won’t go to your website - you read it here. What is the point?! Will edit the review after the bug is fixed
