Obsidian FAQ
Is Obsidian free?
Yes, Obsidian is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Obsidian legit?
🤔 The Obsidian app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This app made things really smooth for me when it comes to note taking and organizing. My biggest problem was losing notes as time goes by. I used to use two note apps(notes, Evernote’s) because of their distinct feature but now it’s relieving knowing I just need ONE APP to do all the work(journaling, research, ideas that pop up, quick reminders, videos/podcasts/ articles notes, etc) and knowing they will be organized, redefined and not lost as the months go by(tags and links are the best thing ever).
The only thing that would make it complete is if there’s an option to sketch, often times instead of words I like to draw out analogies to make the point clear and illustrate something. I do use procreate for this then insert the images to the app which takes some time but it would be literally awesome if that future was there as well.
Awesome
This app is an awesome note taking app i already replaced apple notes and notion with it and its rly good first of all its actually black and the themes r rly good 👍 love this app
Perfection
dawg this shi is AMAZING
The best notes app
This is the best note taking app so far! All the notes are in markdown and I have full control over them, including backups. Also the app itself, especially mobile is awesome, super fast and easy to use.
That’s definitely 5 out of 5!
I am very, very, very, very, very impressed
It is sooooo goooood. It has literally every single feature you could ever think of and is made in a google like format. You can organize and share things really easy and fast and is truly your second brain. It’s sooooo good that even the official notes app from apple cant compare with it. THIS IS UNDERRATED!!!
Extremely flaky sync
The sync on this app is unbelievably flaky, even using their in-house sync service. At $5 a month, I would expect rock solid sync. If i were the PMO on this project, all development would stop until the sync engine is re-written from the ground up. Once users lose faith in the integrity of their precious information, it’s not long before they move to greener pastures.
Yikes dog
Literally was deleting the content of my notes as I was typing them. Highly untrustworthy if you care about losing what you’re writing.
Better than other notes apps
I really like obsidian because of some of the extra features like if you said 400+600 it will automatically enter 1000 if you put and equals at the end and the fact that you can put 2 dashes and it will make a folder
I love this app
great!
absolutely amazing! I use this to plan & keep track of my characters. I use the PC windows version more than this. The plug-ins and graph feature absolutely saved my life. I had so many characters and their complex relationships were starting to overwhelm me. Thank you so much for existing
Rock Solid
I came here to write a review about how much I appreciate Obsidian now that I’ve been forced to use OneNote at work and I see basic functionality (tags specifically) don’t work for them! With obsidian I create empty notes in a hashtag folder and use links. It works seamlessly and with a topology map to boot. OneNote is really lackluster, even missing the daily notes option really misses those touches that one of a kind user experience. Obsidian’s mobile app is one of the most sophisticated mobile apps you will ever see, with working plugins, a working command palette, and versatile UI/UX options. The option of Obsidian sync is worth the money it is basically flawless.
