Parental Control App Reviews

THIS IS THE WORST APP EVER!!!

Joshua Linkinham on

I used this app for my children and it completely wiped away their data! We had to restart their I pad and buy a whole other new one! I command right now to ban this app from ever using again! I will sue this company!!!

Good for safety but….

I’m the kid here and it rearranges my apps everyday even if the folder is still there. Please fix this.

Could be better

I personally do not like this app, but my mom does. It’s a great way to set screen time limits for your child. Just know it also it glitches a lot. Like, on the child device, Kidslox will sometimes give you notifications telling you there is 30 minutes, 10 minutes or 2 minutes on your daily limit. Sometimes it will send me, like, 5 notifications telling me that there is 30 mins left on my daily limit. Me and my mom get in so much fights about Kidslox. I’ll be like, “Mom, can I have more time please?” And she’ll say, “You’ve had enough!” Or, “You have nothing else to do!?” And I’ll text my dad and he’ll say, “Ask mom.” And there are those rare moments when they will say yes. Two suggestions, one - On the child device, I wish you could choose when it will give you notifications, like I could choose if I wanted it to remind be if there were five minutes, 20 mins or an hour left on my limit. That would be a really cool feature. Two - On the kids device, I wish you could see your schedules like you could see on the weekends it goes into child mode at 8:00am or on Mondays it would auto go into lock mode at 9:00pm Thank you for your time and effort to read this long review. And Kidslox, thank your for your consideration.

I hate you guys

I never get to use my phone !

No Phone Customer Service - forced to cancel my subscription!

I have been unable to resolve what should be a simple issue. I needed to add the Kidslock service onto my child's new device - but because we used a backup of his old device - Kidslock is now stuck in PARENT MODE and their support rep can only text with me to troubleshoot the issue. The rep keeps texting me steps to perform from a list they have - instead of determining which steps I've already completed and then pickup from there. They are totally UNABLE to assist me or resolve my issue because they will only provide support via text and this requires a call - a likely 5-min call. I am forced to cancel and no longer use the Kidslock service because I cannot get the service to install in CHILD mode on my son's new device.

Kidslox I'm sorry...

Kidslox, thank you for fixing this and reviews just ask a guardian or parent to remove the parental control mode!

I’m 15, And If You’re Going To Use A Screen Time App For Your Kids, Use The Apple Feature.

My parents used to use this app for my siblings and I when we were younger, and all three of us absolutely hated it. We’re all in high school now, and none of our opinions have changed. I, personally, hate all screen time apps, but if you’re going to use one, use Apple’s Screen Time feature. This app is horrible for a lot of reasons, but something I’d always hate is that when the screen time ran out, it would just kick you out of the app. No time to save, nothing. Apple, on the other hand, gives you a “One More Minute” feature (it can only be used once per day, and can be changed to and from “Ignore Time Limit For The Rest Of The Day”) which gives you time to save (it’s honestly really only 30 seconds). EDIT: You may not want to listen to a literal child, but I have experience with this app, and it was a genuine headache for both me, my siblings AND my parents. My Mom was ecstatic when she disabled this app. Needless to say, we were too. I also never got a confession out of anyone, but I was honestly extremely impressed when I would come back home after school and saw a bunch of Kidslox hate art hanging on the walls of our apartment.

buggy

good for helping kids get off their phones but as a kid, there are too many glitches that make a hassle. like, i got more time to listen to music and it wont work. also, it bans some apps that you might need, like Life360 and others. very buggy.
