Description

Breakthrough DTS Play-Fi(R) technology powers simple, great-sounding whole-home wireless audio systems for smartphones and tablets. You can stream your favorite tunes over Wi-Fi right from the Play-Fi app to speakers from DTS Play-Fi product partners. It's a huge step up from Bluetooth - the audio quality and reliability are outstanding, and you can enjoy music from your phone in one room, or all your rooms.
The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.
The app offers built-in streaming options: stream from worldwide music services; use AM/FM and Internet radio, connect to DLNA servers, or play anything from your device's music library, including your iTunes playlists. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.
The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, set up speaker groups, or stream to all of them at once. Manage speaker groups for Spotify Connect, too.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a Play-Fi product from Polk Audio, Definitive Technology or Phorus, please search for and download the custom Play-Fi app for your audio brand.
Please also note that the Play-Fi app is companion software to audio products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.

DawnReneATL on

Constantly having to start the process of pairing the iPad and speaker. My older iPad won’t pair with the PlayFi speaker anymore.

You broke SiriusXM again!!

Unacceptable App! on

United States

Prior to this latest update you had fixed the SiriusXM playback issue of cutting out. Now since the latest update (8.52.4) 4 days ago, SiriusXM has reverted back to cutting out.

The user experience is acceptable.

Still waiting for KKbox direct streaming to the amp! Still not supported after some time.

Stopped working for iPad

SDCraig27 on

United States

The app always had some reconnecting issues, but recently the app completely stopped working on my iPad. As soon as you open the app, the spinning star begins and it just spins and spins and spins trying to connect. I have closed and opened and restarted the iPad. Many times, nothing seems to fix the issue. It also seems the app has been abandoned by the developer as when I tried to report a problem, there was no link to any company. Sad as it once was an awesome application.

Not the most intuitive app

This is not the most intuitive app, but once figured out it is easy to use.

The worst hi res music app.

Unhappyzz on

United States

Sort the reviews by most recent. Almost every review in the last year is negative. This is the worst hi res music app I have had to suffer through. It never remembers the streamer I am attached to or the music server. If I pause the music from my phone without unlocking the phone first it forgets everything and you have to start the whole process over again (find the streamer that was playing 1 second ago, reconnect to the server, then find the selection you were playing, all of which could take over 5 minutes depending on the mood of the app). You are supposed to be able to stream directly from the server to the streamer, however, that has never worked. The error messages are useless (an error occurred). I will not purchase any hardware that requires Play-Fi. It is that bad. It is as if the authors of this software are trying to make it as bad as it is. Any hardware company that requires you to use this software must have never tried it. Or want to make their customers suffer.

Sounds good. Tends to be glitchy. Problematic at times.

The app fail often !!

travel11385 on

United States

This apps is not reliable due to disconnect from the Wi-Fi network often and difficult setting up group speakers, comparing to blue tooth systems I currently have in my home. Personally I prefer blue tooth speakers.
