Breakthrough DTS Play-Fi(R) technology powers simple, great-sounding whole-home wireless audio systems for smartphones and tablets. You can stream your favorite tunes over Wi-Fi right from the Play-Fi app to speakers from DTS Play-Fi product partners. It's a huge step up from Bluetooth - the audio quality and reliability are outstanding, and you can enjoy music from your phone in one room, or all your rooms.
The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.
The app offers built-in streaming options: stream from worldwide music services; use AM/FM and Internet radio, connect to DLNA servers, or play anything from your device's music library, including your iTunes playlists. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.
The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, set up speaker groups, or stream to all of them at once. Manage speaker groups for Spotify Connect, too.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a Play-Fi product from Polk Audio, Definitive Technology or Phorus, please search for and download the custom Play-Fi app for your audio brand.
Please also note that the Play-Fi app is companion software to audio products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.

Feels outdated and clunky
Been using this app for years now with Qobuz as my main music player.
Now, neither this nor Qobuz have amazing UI or UX, so not too sure were the blame has to go. Regardless, the functionality of Qobuz is not 100% transferred to Play-fi, so there certain things you can't do.
Such as, when you make a search for anything, say you click on the artist and the next page you're presented with are ALL of the albums, singles and compilations and what not, in one long list. Without clear separation, labels or even sorting or filtering options.
So if you're looking for something - but don't know the EXACT name for it, you can find yourself looking through literally hundreds of 'albums'.
Not good at all
The app worked for a couple of days but now it cannot find my audiolab omnia. Even when it did work, it was slow and not very user friendly.
Stupid app
App stops playing track very often. Keeps disconnecting from my audiolab 6000a play. Keeps going on opt1 and when you try to play from there its just buffing. So now i just use Bluetooth. Stupid stupid app. I have tried to delete the app and set it up multiple times
Slightly better but…
Still skipping tracks on Audiolab 6000N with Qobuz. Just did it from It’s Ok to Dull Knifes on Imagine Dragons Mercury Act 1
Flawed app
Taking into account the hifi brands that use the Play Fi app as control, I’m shocked by its user unfriendliness and lack of features. Coming from such a major company as DTS, this app should be a smooth experience. It’s not!
No support
Too bad there’s is no support for gapless playback. A major feature in all serious streaming protocols. Makes this product seem outdated. Or perhaps just bad programming?
