Breakthrough DTS Play-Fi(R) technology powers simple, great-sounding whole-home wireless audio systems for smartphones and tablets. You can stream your favorite tunes over Wi-Fi right from the Play-Fi app to speakers from DTS Play-Fi product partners. It's a huge step up from Bluetooth - the audio quality and reliability are outstanding, and you can enjoy music from your phone in one room, or all your rooms.
The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.
The app offers built-in streaming options: stream from worldwide music services; use AM/FM and Internet radio, connect to DLNA servers, or play anything from your device's music library, including your iTunes playlists. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.
The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, set up speaker groups, or stream to all of them at once. Manage speaker groups for Spotify Connect, too.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a Play-Fi product from Polk Audio, Definitive Technology or Phorus, please search for and download the custom Play-Fi app for your audio brand.
Please also note that the Play-Fi app is companion software to audio products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.

Can’t understand how it can be so bad
I’ve tried, I’m patient, I understand not everything can work perfectly all the time but my patience has long been exhausted with play-fi. But I have been hanging on - hoping beyond hope that some update will miraculously transform it into a highly functional app.
Nope my latest device update has made it worse. So what is wrong, in my personal experience.
First off it’s a messy interface, crude even, compared with what the best can do. I use it mostly to play music through an audio lab 6000N streamer via Qobuz or internet radio. The Qobuz interface is horrible - if you’re actually on Qobuz it has an attractive interface - all gone on play-fi. A shame, a real shame. But that would be livable if it actually worked.
The biggest gripe isn’t that the interface is ugly it’s that, for me, it just doesn’t work. I’ve tried, I really have. The saddest thing is it destroys my enjoyment of streaming music. How that? Well first off it can take an age to connect to the device, this sometimes drops out, but worst of all is that connections drop all the time, I try transferring music to the device but 2 from 3 times this fails. So to start up streaming radio it takes 5-10 mins of messing about each morning. Oh for the days of a simple FM radio - one button and it works, I dream of simple FM radios, what a luxury.
The same applies to listening to music in the evening- it’s a lottery of whether it will work or not - nevermind how long it takes to get started - I’ve used different devices (all apple) but same result.
What prompted this review is a device update which took all day to complete- yes all day, no exaggeration first tried at 09:00 and finally managed it by 16:30. Hoping that now things would be smoother, better (I know the device is nothing to do with play-fi). As I sit here the radio is sputtering on and off - ahhrrgggghhh!!! What have I done.
I will upgrade my streamer - why oh why Audiolab did you go with Play-Fi. And vow never to use Play-Fi again!
Sound only plays from phone!
I connected my iPhone but the sound isn‘t working. Neither on my Airpods nor on my beats studio!!! The sound only comes from the speakers!
Hello 90s
The Ui is horrible, it is slow and has no gapless playback... no way!, I‘m glad that I did not spend too much on my device!
