With the RSA Authenticator app, you can use either OTP credentials or additional cloud based MFA for authentication:
• SecurID software OTP Credential generate one-time passwords that provide more reliable security than reusable passwords.
• Approve (push notifications) prompts you to authenticate by tapping a button on your registered device.
• Biometrics methods allow you to authenticate with the biometrics available on your device.
Simple, fast, and all within the same app!
iOS users:
• For security reason, the RSA Authenticator app does not function on devices that are rooted or jailbroken.
• QR code method allows you to authenticate by scanning a QR code provided by the authentication interface.
macOS users:
• Please contact your help desk Administrator to provision the software token for you to import in the Authenticator app.
Note: Your company must be an RSA customer to use this app. Please contact your Help Desk Administrator if you did not receive the information required to register your device.
The RSA Authenticator app is an update to the existing SecurID 4.X app and a replacement for SecurID Authenticate 3.9.x app.

Never change a running system
The latest update is crud!
Pathetic app
The latest version of this app is a clear sign that this company has no regard for the end user (customer). Pathetic design that is not thought out at all. Font size is considerably smaller and harder to read now. And with the entire industry moving to dark format to save eyes and energy, this company moves away from dark to extra bright and small text to hurt the eyes and add unnecessary drain on device batteries. The designer, and all that approved this version, need to be fired and the app corrected.
Viel umständlicher als früher
In der alten Version (die man auch zügig gefunden hat) konnte man sehr effizient die Pin eintippen und hatte sofort das Token auf dem Schirm. Diese neue Version erfordert mehrere Klicks mehr und da ich für jede Kleinigkeit einen neuen Tokencode benötige, ist das RICHTIG lästig. Wiedermal eine App, beu der ich mir wünschte, Applf würde ENDLICH ein Downgrade/Rollback derartiger Updates anbieten.
What were you thinking? Were you?
How can a developer change an app that’s critical for security and an integral part of a corporation’s infrastructure so drastically? The new icon resulted in people not finding the app anymore or thinking they fell victim to hackers! And the app forgetting all tokens causes users to lose VPN connectivity and thus contact with their Helpdesk at a time when most are still in their home office being reliant on remote access! I’m sure that could have been handled much more smoothly!
Why did you downgrade the UI???
You had the chance to improve a very well running app. You completely messed it up! Why did you change the design of the UI in such a bad way? Smaller Icons everywhere, they need to first activate your keypad before being able to type in your personal code, and for reading the activation code you now need to glasses. And another thing: why did you change the logo?The three letters “RSA” were always easily recognizable between all the other apps, now you are looking just like any other app or even worse spam ware. Whoever is doing decisions about that UI in this company: you really messed up this time! Please change and make it better again!
Security? Usability?
If you completely redesign a security relevant app, you should - make users aware of it, so it doesn’t look like a massive phishing attack - actually improve the design and not make it worse: smaller UI elements everywhere, smaller token - which is the essence of the app, lots of unused space etc.
Sadism?
Rarely seen a GUI that triggers so many wrong taps. It's almost a work of art in the category bad UI... A sadistic genius at work maybe.
Worst GUI ever
And back to the worst GUI in the history of Apps. Our user are complaining about the new design. Small GUI elements despite the fact that there is plenty of space. You can not really distinguish between Passcode and Tokencode. Everyone involved in this nightmare should go back to school and learn how to build intuitive GUIs.
