Top science for a nice price

jaaphi on

SA is a good source of information explaining a lot of things verry good

Scientific level has dropped over the years

LucaLuca54321 on

By far most articles have been written by journalists instead of scientists so it has become more of a news magazine than a popular scientific magazine.

Much less content since October 2022

g5r5 on

Great magazine, but where at the start of my subscription there where 4 titles available, there now is only the main magazine (and less news stories too). In the last issue of the now removed Space & Physics, it was mentioned content remains available on the web. This is however not all accessible for app-only subscribers. Choosing the more expensive subscription to read all the magazines, but halfway finding that you can read only what the cheaper subscription offered is very disappointing.

Sudden crashing unusable

rainbowincloud on

Dear Sciam, Please fix the bug. I am really annoyed by this bug. Basically your app is useless now, sudden crash after 30 sec. If not solved, I really need to cancel your subscription. Very sad.

Like the magazine, don’t like clunky login

Jos Aarts on

I enjoy reading Scientific American. However, every time when wanting to read on iPad I need to login and often I get the message that I am not authorized to access content. And I paid for it!

Subscription glitches

Ooo6759 on

iOS app “forgets” subscription and proposes to purchase magazines I must have an access to. The magazines that have been already opened, are still available for reading. But I can’t freely open magazines issued in august and before (access to 24 previously issued magazines is included in paid subscription I have).

Love the magazine but beware

FoA340 on

I always love to read SA. A good magazine with many varied articles to stay on the forefront of knowledge for non-scientists. A few points to pay attention to (iphone 6+); -very hard to cancel your membership (for non-us customers) you have to call them in the month ending your subscription year. So not possible in the app!! -downloaded magazines deleted by the software automatically, due to no memory on phone? Allthough over 1gb still available, so offline reading very hard (you have to put everything in scrapbook)

After reinstalling on the new iPad Pro 10.5 I cannot open my purchases

HermanvC on

The restore of my students subscription is successful, but I get the following error: Oops, something's gone wrong. There was a problem with the authorization service. You are not authorized to view this content. I send an email to Scientific American, but have not heard from them after 24 hours. Please help me.

Terrible, due to extreme slowness

Sperood on

So slow it is makes me stop using it

Logging in every time is annoying

W.F. van Maanen on

App requires a log in every time, does not recognize my subscription but forgets it every time. Really annoying
