You can ‘t enlarge the font size, it’s too small on the smartphone, thank you.

Great magazine, awful app

Pastefe on

I love scientific American and have been a reader for about 10 years, however this app is really not at the level of the paper. Every time you open in you need to log in again to see your issues and if you download, the app automatically delete upon closing. Please work on it and make this app to the level of your journal.

Good but needs improvement

Josef2082 on

Basic functionality is good but it's very annoying that every time I enter the app I have to reopen the issue was reading and scroll down to the last position. I should always keep the last reading position

Basic but good

Some better reading tools would make this better

La app è discreta. Ogni mese però devo rifare il login perché non mi riconosce come abbonato. Un bug da risolvere al più presto.

A bad app just got worse

soffici on

Amazing magazine, really. The content is great. The previous version of the app was bad. People were complaining about the app crashing all the time. The developers listened to them, but it would have been better if they hadn't. To summarise: the app needed baby-sitting all the time while downloading issues, it could not download 2 issues at the same time, you had to manually tap on each once one was finished. Then there were the issues about the app crashing all the time while trying to read the magazine (which, by the way, is AMAZINGLY GOOD and deserves 7 stars). They decided to overhaul the whole app. It just made things a lot worse, not least because all already downloaded issues in high resolution need to be downloaded again. And you can't download them in high-def!!! Hours spent baby-sitting the app down the drain because of some idiotic decision. A shame, because, as already stated, the magazine deserves much more than this piece of crap. If I were Mr Scientific American, I would immediately fire the whole app-developing team (maybe not the actual coders, certainly the manager and the alpha- and beta-testers) and hire someone competent. Sorry, guys, but this app really sucks

Amazing Magazine

Eng: a phantastic app, for the Best scientific magazine in the world (for me). Good construction the app to use with iPad, clear, very simple read the articles, interactive on Line...so Nice job...don't stop:) ita: bellissima app per la migliore rivista scientifica al mondo per chiarezza e semplicità di fruizione. Ottimimamente pensata per IPad, ottima l'uso, interattiva...semplicemente davvero ben fatta.

It was great

Fully disappointed after passing to iOS 8. The app breaks down continuously. I can't read the magazine.
