As i learn Japanese is very handy.
I have been using this dictionary for last 6 months! Very useful especially finding kanjis which we cannot read, use writing kanji to find its meaning and reading !
Somehow completely free and completely ad free, AND extremely useful? you can literally draw kanji to look it up and theres flashcards and stuff!!!
I started learning Japanese in the summer through my college. This fall semester, I would always ask one of the TA’s or my sensei how to say a certain word, and they would think it over and come up with a couple different words. One day, one of the younger TA’s pulled up this app and I asked what it was. He showed me, and he said it’s probably the most accurate for translating certain words. You can type in an English or Japanese word. It tells you the pronunciation, the meanings (if there’s multiple), examples of the word being used in a sentence, all the different ways to conjugate it, the type of word it is (like na-adjective, noun, etc), even the spellings in both kana and kanji and it’ll break down what each kanji means if there are some. Literally has helped so much with my class. I love this dictionary!
This is by far the best app for almost everything you need in a Japanese dictionary. The UI is beautiful, and minimalistic, and the features are useful. However, I do have some requests to which I believe would make the app better. 1. I would like to have the option to delete a set of flashcards or possibly reset progress. There were many times I had to readjust some of the settings which would create a whole new flashcard deck with just those settings. 2. I would like for the notes app to include an option to create a new page for notes on things like taking notes on grammar points. I can only view notes that I have made on specific entries, but I would like the ability to have freeform notes with possible support for the Apple pencil and make the page drawable, (as a setting for the specific note page if possible). These things I believe will elevate the experience of this dictionary and improve on something already perfect.
i like it! though unfortunately the pronunciation of words is pretty bad. would be excellent if this feature gets fixed.
