I’ve been a Sonos fan going on 15 years now. At least that’s when I bought a system for my restaurant. I love Sonos. I’m currently running 12 speakers in my 1300 square ft house. Needless to say my house is jamming.
Best speakers ever! Easy to use, amazing sound!
App still operates.
The update ruined the whole app. It’s infuriating! I hate it and I don’t know why they won’t change it back! So angry 😡
I’ve been struggling with this app for a while now and I’ve decided it’s just a piece of junk. I’m glad I didn’t pay any money for the upgrade. I now exclusively use the MacBook to control the Sonos in my house. I don’t know why they decided to revamp the app because the previous version seem to work just fine.
I have been listening to high fidelity equipment for many many years and was at first impressed with the Sonos speaker systems. Over a few years, I purchased two Play 3’s, two Play 5’s, a beam, six Sonos Play 1’s, Playbase and Boost. I was all in. Seemed to be working just fine and now (about 18-24 months ago) the app does not support those speakers. My system drops like crazy. I work to reset the speakers and get them working with the app and then the next day when I plan to listen to music one or more of speakers are not being identified by the app. This continues over time and again. I feel like I am part of the movie “Groundhog Day”, but in this case, replaying the same experience of dropped speakers and then working hours to reset all speakers and get the system all working, only to have speakers drop off one by one over time (days). Very frustrating given the fact that I spent quite a bit of money for the system. Now I am resorting to listening to my Altec Lansings from 1980….still working! Having a wired system seems to be the only way I can listen to music in my house.
This App is a step-child tossed at us as a sop when Sonos was threatened with a class-action law suit as a response to turning original products into “bricks”. They continue to force updates on users - even though said updates reduce capability and introduce serious bugs. MOST aggravating is they no longer properly display or allow use of Apple Playlists. (I don’t use SONOS playlists because I can’t use ONE playlist on both of my Sonos systems. These people are the most egotistical, money-grubbing vendors I’ve had the misfortune to encounter.
Plays well but drops out occasionally. Very annoying.
Having issues with Sonos? don’t worry there will be no one at Sonos with the ability to fix it. Buy a different product.
