You’ll need some data to download the app for the first time, but data charges no longer apply when using the SA app itself. If you have a connection, you can do your banking!
Transactional features are available to Standard Bank accounts held in South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Lesotho, Malawi, eSwatini and Namibia. Keep in mind that some types of payments include transaction fees.
Note that some features may not be available in your region.

Stanbic Bank App
Not very reliable. I have been unable to view my accounts for months. Keep getting error messages.
Worst app Ever
Slow and laborious ! Had to keep adding the same information time and time again and once finally added it wasn’t worth the effort as the app does not display basic information Save yourself the pain and frustration and bank elsewhere
Much worse since updated
The latest updates to this app have made it almost unusable. The addition of the ‘transact’ button makes no sense and is very unhelpful, when the previous menus were perfectly adequate. And in this latest version, the facility to send payments to a mobile number works no more than 10-20% of the time. Seriously considering closing my Stanbic account because of this

Laptop to app
This app is rubbish as I seem To loose my beneficiaries when I connect via the App But when I log back on my laptop all my beneficiaries are there The only beneficiaries I can see when connecting to the App is people I have paid via their cell phone numbers
This update (v3.46.0) is just broken!
I recently updated to this version and I’m no longer able to access the “Buy” tab of the application - it just hard crashes out and returns to my Home Screen. I also lost the ability to pay for URA rates and taxes a few updates ago. Generally it seems the app is devolving and getting more buggy rather than evolving and becoming more reliable. For context, I’m running iOS 16.4.1 with Stanbic app version is v3.46.0 and I’m based in Uganda. Please fix these issues!
Most useless mobile banking app
It’s been 3 week since most features stopped working. Very useless banking app have ever used.
No longer supported
Why don’t you give advanced warning of updates? It’s happened several times to me, I’m away from my WiFi network, I need the app, but it says I need an update
Details not loading
Ver 3.44.2 has a problem After log in stuck on landing page “Something went wrong reload”
