I’m a paid subscriber. Otherwise great app and content.
App constantly logs you out and makes you sign in multiple times a day. It's ridiculous. The app is so bad that I have cancelled my subscription to The Atlantic. It's a far better experience to read The Atlantic via Apple News+ where you never need to log in.
When you’re a paying subscriber that mostly accesses through the app, it’s quite jarring when you click an article and a pop up tells you to subscribe. It’s not just the inconvenience of having to log in almost every time I use the app - it’s also getting the unsubscribed user experience that is irritating. There are many things to like about the app otherwise. It’s fast, saves your place in an article (even after being logged out ha), and I do like the curated page.
I’m a paying subscriber through Apple subscriptions and once a month the app forgets that I have a subscription. Clicking “restore subscription” or logging in doesn’t work. I have to delete and re-install to get it working again. I find this infuriating. iOS is a mature platform and this app has been around for awhile. Yet they can’t seem to get this right. Every month—“subscribe!” Such a rude message when you’ve already paid and now have to troubleshoot a magazine before you’ve finished your morning coffee. First world problems I know… but sue me, I have first world expectations.
We are already paying you a subscription to read this. Make an ad-free version.
This app has been broken for at least a year—it requires the user to log in again and again and again. And again. Every other app on iOS lets the user stay logged in. Why hasn’t this been fixed?
Unfortunately, this app that requires a subscription still shows ads which completely ruins the reading experience. Sad.
The Atlantic is awesome, everybody should know that at this point. My one complaint with the app is that you have to be in the browser version to be able to gift an article? As a subscriber, I would love to easily text a friend a gift article. Why this would not be available in the app is beyond me
Everyother app…New York Times, WSJ, lets you save your login info so you can stay logged in. But not The Atlantic. Ive tried everything. Frustrating. Time to end my useless subscription.
During the past months, the app has asked me to sign in. What used to be a rare occurrence is now happening every time I open the app. Please fix this. Content is excellent, as it has been for the 40 years I’ve been subscribed.
