Really the worst app on my phone by a mile - extremely slow to load, to browse editions, clicking on bookmark works after 5-6 seconds, crashes are frequent… the old app was perfect, this one is really making me consider unsubscribing (been a sub for 20y +!)
Please fix the iPad app it is incredibly slow compared to the iphone version and makes it a chore to read
I have been a long time Economist subscriber and love the content. However the app itself is atrocious: slow, buggy… The rating it gets is because they ask in a sneaky way “do you enjoy the economist” instead of “do you enjoy the app”. The pathetic IT team gets away with a good rating this way. The app is a disgrace to the content.
I love the quality of the contents but for a paid service, the current app performs really poorly. It is slow and buggy, crashes occasionally. Please get that fixed, everyone else seems able to do it.
For it’s convenient on app using , really suitable for mobile applications!
App reacts very slowly. Needs a fix desperately
I thought it was my phone that caused the app to be slower but I just bought a new phone and the app is still slow and less responsive than you would expect. Other things to improve: 1. Navigation - it’s messy to be able to switch between editions. 2. Watch - The watch controls for switching to next article on the audio listening mode have been replaced by controls to move forward or backward by 10 seconds. This is undesirable. The left control should be for going back by 10 seconds and the right control should be for switching to the next article.
App is very slow, generally unusable without a network connection even if you download editions. Shame, great journalism held back by poor IT
Saving and listening to articles is very laggy. Each action takes 1-4 seconds to execute. Annoying.
It’s a good app, particularly like that it’ll load the weekly editions for offline. Small improvements in better navigation and ensuring the article remains the same when you return to the app would improve the overall experience.
