Good App, Terrible Notifications

Really good app even if it doesn’t follow a lot of the platform guidelines. The push notifications though are rough. Most of the news apps on my phone with breaking news notifications send me between 0 and 2 notifications a day. NYT sends me something like 4 an hour. And their definition of “news” is loose at best. Immigrant-shy Japan took 47 Ukrainian immigrants? A push notification? The height of madness

Still no dark mode

The app is ok. Dark mode would be great.

iPad app became terrible and buggy

Main issues: Redesigned For You section does not load interests set in Settings and also is not a reflection of content recommended based on other content read. Impossible to find the Spelling Bee and Vortex unless manually searching for it (and saving it For Later). Spelling Bee requires login at least twice a day, even when logged in in the NYT app. Removing and reinstalling the app did not fix this. Impossible to contact App Support - link in App Store leads to a dead page.

Good app, can get better

App has pretty good functionality, one of the things missing is native hardware keyboard support. I am also running into a possible bug where the sections tab fail to load the first time and have to go back before re-selecting it. Dark mode-reading mode, would be a nice addition as well.

Hey, I am not high active user of the app, but I use it for the notification service. I can see that you don’t support dark mode in the app, which is not problem for me, but the problem is in your Notification Extension, which in dark mode has black font on dark background and is not readable.
