iOS 15 no longer supported

Please restore backwards compatibility for iOS 15. Please do not force us to choose between buying a new device or reading the New York Times. Please support keeping devices as long as they can function. This is both an economic and environmental issue.

iOS 16

… is it not possible to offer a simplified version of the app so that one can use older iPhones?

Does not run on iPhone 7

The new version requires iOS 16 which does not run on my iPhone 7. Bye-bye NYT.

Can‘t use on iPhone7

I no longer have access to the NYT app (and my subscription), because the upgrade requires iOS 16, and my iPhone7 can’t upgrade to v. 16 (and I’m blocked from the app till I upgrade). Thanks *so* much.

Blocked

NYT App opens and then immediately blocks so that nothing can be done. That is extremely frustrating and ruins all my confidance in New York Times! Regards, Zoran Lazarov

App is unusable

Freezes as soon as you try to launch it on my iPad. Too bad.

The app keeps on freezing every time I open it. Can’t use it anymore. iPhone SE 2020

Great but crashes often

Great app overall, fantastic news. However very frequent crashes (despite logging out, deleting cash, uninstalling etc) affect user experience a lot.

sticks, nothing loads, cannot scroll

Battery drain

The app seems to be using much much more resources than needed. My phone always gets warm when I use it. Especially the games (e.g. Wordle) seem to be resource intensive; often they lag, as well. This is not on old hardware either, but an iPhone 13.
